PUPPETS AND CLOWNS

PUPPETS AND CLOWNS

Dressed up each day in what we are to where for the man,

For work not for play, everyday survival, an outfit, our costume.

A ritual practiced, obey fore to be compensated,

With the printed paper handed to us so that we are of worth.

We’re to let them pull our strings, dance and put on a certain face,

Puppets and clowns humiliating and a sad disgrace.

We’re to have no real thoughts of our own,

Speak so that they do not hear,

Put on an act for those whom are made up of power, false power.

Puppets and clowns, puppets and clowns, are we they,?

Turn it around, is the world upside down, we have no strings,

We dance for no one, only for fun.

PUT THE GUNS AWAY

PUT THE GUNS AWAY

Listen closely to this story as I see it, from a very long time ago,

In 1132 the Chinese knew about gunpowder, a tool, no, a weapon.

The first hand held gun was called an arquebus then of course the musket,

Many men had to try something, the invention of the rifle, the shotgun.

Congratulations! if they were used only for hunting but no, good became evil,

To this day they’ve been used for much criminal activity, too hurt and kill.

What happened to the days when they were used to feed your family,

Then came the sports hunter, killing just for the prize, a head hung high.

The police have them so that they can stop the ones whom shouldn’t,

Children are using them everyday in other countries just to survive.

The bullets ring out from the years no longer here, guns don’t die,

Guns don’t kill, people kill people because of fear, anger, and stupidity.

The noise needs to stop, it has put many a human being in their graves,

Unload your weapons, they’ll sing out in heaven, put the guns away.

War after war with much more advanced weaponry that will destroy,

In the end there will be no more world, put the guns away.

ABOVE THE WAVE

ABOVE THE WAVE

Out on the horizon, beneath the sinking sun, It rolls In,

They all come to watch, they come to ride the wild surf.

For the true surfer It comes from within, at one with the wave,

Shooting the tube, living on the edge, free to glide across the water.

From Australia, the split, surfers’ paradise, they battle the rolling storm,

To Hawaii, waimea Bay, North Shore, Pipeline, or Hanalei Bay, the wave.

Above the wave where dreams’ are made, surf the open water way,

Around the world beyond the shores of Peru to New Zealand, ride.

Above the wave, beneath the wide open sky, forever ride,

Touch the water and listen to the sound of the crashing waves.

SEEKING

“SEEKING”

I keep searching until I find,

That special someone whose In my mind.

Out there somewhere In my world,

Are many things’ of happiness.

Each time my eyes open starts another day,

A day of hope for what comes my way.

Always wanting and seeking for,

A life that’s filled with much, much more.

I’ll keep moving and faith will help,

A prayer each day to see me through.

A YEAR AGO I DIED, TODAY I HAVE LIFE

A YEAR AGO I DIED,

TODAY I HAVE LIFE

Tomorrow does not know me, yesterday does not care,

Today I’m alive!, today I have life, dreaming of another day.

A year ago Is gone, a day when I did die, Inside no breath,

Smothered was this man, the air was taken from me.

Where, oh! where have I gone when I lost my way,

Only dreams’ show me the story of those days’ a year ago.

Today I have life, a new and different time this must be,

Lessons’ learned, taught by he whom makes these mistakes.

A year ago I died, today I have life, memories and tears of lonely cries,

A ghost, a shadow exists’ around me, still, a presence finds’ me.

A WORLD OF TIME

A WORLD OF TIME

From the hands of time to the international date line,

We take our time from Greenwich, the hourglass is our sand of time.

Wrist watches, stop watches, twelve months in a year,

Fifty two weeks, three hundred and sixty five days.

Twenty four hours to our day, is it long enough to live and play,?

Minutes disappear, seasons tick away.

We work about eight hours with what we do,

Forty hours a week, we’re never through.

Maybe two days off, forty eight hours to rest,

Only so much time to love and visit with anyone.

Time to feed the kids, time to feed the dog,

Not enough time to stay young, awake and start the clock,

A world of time, always on the mind.

A WOMAN I CAN CALL MY FRIEND

A WOMAN I CAN CALL MY FRIEND

Thank you for lending me your ear as you’ve been so kind,

Too take Into your thoughts’ what I’m feeling Inside.

Your care and giving goes one step beyond,

Such a friend you’ve been with no way to describe.

Although you are beautiful with a smile like the sun,

The beauty within you, most special my friend.

You speak to me and help me too understand,

That In this world I’m a descent and good man.

When times get tough I know you are there,

With a hug or a look that says’ I’ll make It through.

I’m so glad you’re there, my world’s a better place,

Any time I can hear your voice or you let me see that pretty face.

A TRUE OLYMPIAN

A TRUE OLYMPIAN

What seems like a lifetime of preparation and hard work Is here,

Sacrifice, blood, and sweat have been understood throughout.

For years getting ready for the ultimate competition Is recognized,

Whatever the battle you’ve been preparing for Is close, are you ready.

Stand and face your opponent, hold your head high and face your fear,

Strong Is the athlete whom does finish whether win or lose, still a victory.

To make It there, be chosen to represent a country Is already a winner,

Raise your hand high In the air, wave the flag of colors and be also proud.

You are a true olympian, If you worked that hard and made It, head held high and proud.

FEEL THE WIND

FEEL THE WIND

With my heart, this heart I can still touch,

Your scent encircling me does not vanish.

In the wind feel you I do,

Go away you do not, the air I breathe is you.

Step out onto your patio, take in the air,

The early evening breeze flows through your hair,

Feel it on you, I am there.

Feel the wind as it comes from all that you are,

Energy so magnificent, power of your soul.

I feel the wind and imagine that it wears a face,

A smile, beautiful eyes, and a voice with words of love.

Feel the wind, I can feel the wind as it takes me away,

The wind is you, I am the wind.

A MINUTE FROM HEAVEN

A MINUTE FROM HEAVEN

I live a life that seems more than half way done,

Started at a beginning, seen more than sun to sun.

I’ve walked this land and had my share of pain,

Friends whom have come and gone, love them just the same.

A family through struggles and laughter,

Children grow up so fast, will they only remember my name.?

I had my share of good, other things I’ve paid the price,

All I ask of you dear lord is that you consider my fight.

A minute from heaven is what we have each day,

Step by step when the time has come, would you kindly show me the way.
