LOST INSIDE

LOST INSIDE

He woke one morning to a day not so different from another,

His wife so beautiful, three daughters smiling to the morning.

A flight on a plane would change forever a man’s world,

How is it possible to survive alone and in silence after this hell?

Pretending this never happened as pictures are placed in front of your eyes,

Reminders that they have died as these frozen scenes keep them alive.

Lost Inside with not a peaceful place to hide, a father alone in an empty home,

Tuning out the world as the world decided not to leave this man alone.

His family has died, he is silently screaming on the Inside, no tears to cry,

Lost Inside, a friend and a new smiling face will again change his life.

FROM WHERE I SIT

FROM WHERE I SIT

Ahead in front of me I gaze at a sight,

Of a world of wonders, not always fright.

I see the good that has been upon us blessed,

Maybe taken for granted by all at one time.

Seeing at times like a soul with no eyes,

Listen again with my ears, to hear what’s around.

Opening my mind to now focus on what’s to see,

Much love around me there is to be.

Too understand all that’s been good,

And put away in the distance any bad as I should.

Things that are from where I sit.

FROM THESE EYES SEEN

FROM THESE EYES SEEN

What do I dream, look Into my eyes, what do I see,

To you, are my eyes beautiful, what do your eyes see.

My eyes shine In the light, they’re a color of brown,

A face I wear but you do not see, you will not see me.

From these eyes seen are amazing and wonderful things’,

In my time there have been tears’ shown to you, why.

These eyes take In all that will appear before them,

Do you know me, have you seen me before.

FROM THE MIRROR

FROM THE MIRROR

What do you see when you peek at me, for a lifetime you’ve seen,

I wait as each time you appear, we grow older together with the years.

You stare and dream as thoughts from your mind are the same in me,

The morning awakes you, come see the mirror, do you see, do you see.

You’ve studied me closely, at times wondering who I am, understand,

I am the same as you, a man searching within himself, always searching.

From the mirror you gaze into these eyes, are you so surprised,

Do you think I do not know whom it is you really are, I know you.

There are those moments I wish not to see you, not here you,

Not think at all or too fe.el the same pain that haunts you,

From the mirror thoughts of a man, a piece of one man.

TAKING CARE OF ME

TAKING CARE OF ME

A time it is when I must think of not another but me,

Loved ones I know pass me by, they forgot how to see.

Once so close yet with time further are we in thought,

Friends really do come and go, strangers are a constant we know.

Taking care of me Is how I must be, no one will care, not like me,

I don’t wish to be alone but part of me will forever be on my own.

I must always watch over me, who else cares what I am really to be,

Busy lives roam fast around, they rarely listen as your voice has not a sound,

Taking care of me makes me feel at ease as how many others do believe in me?

ONE MORE DAY

ONE MORE DAY

Am I dreaming, selfish to expect or assume another chance,

A breath, watching the sun rise to a brand new day, see and be.

Why do I believe that my time is forever, but what may forever contain,

Is forever now, another moment, another day is so much to ask for.

One more day has been for so long a fantasy guaranteed, a child believed,

A long life is a miracle fore God gives us moment by moment as he sees.

We live one piece at a time, a puzzle with a number that tells of our life scenes,

One day at a time, to see the sunshine after a new morning light is a beautiful sight.

Love and cry under another evening, Summer sky, one more day not to say goodbye,

So many wonderful treasures and pleasures that have to be left behind, seems unkind.

One more day to play in the sand, listen to that favorite song walking hand in hand,

One more day to understand that we have only a limited time to be woman and man.

FREEDOM, LAND, AND LIFE

FREEDOM, LAND, AND LIFE

What does it all mean, has the value changed from the beginning,

Did we really start out free, pick a spot to call our own, a home.

How free are we, only as much as they say we can be,

Freedom appears lost, you own a piece of land, taken with a powerful hand,

You work and sweat, blisters on your hands, how long will you stand.

Life is precious, thrown away, discarded through a world of wars,

They will take your life if it’s worth the price, whom tells the lies?

Freedom, land, and life, taken away with a flash of light.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH

FREEDOM OF SPEECH

Freedom of speech, the words, phrase, and the meaning are not clear,

It Is our right we are told that speak we may In public our own way.

There Is no such thing as saying what you’re thinking out loud In the streets,

They say that It’s your right but you better be careful of what you are saying.

How much freedom of speech do we really have, I do know not that much,

I had my Attorney tell me about freedom of speech, that anyone can say what they want.

There Is no freedom of speech In the work place, try It and see what happens,

Management can not call you names, sing songs over the radio about you and your problems.

They can not make fun with a tune about the tragedy’s Of your life In front of customers,

Stress and harassment are the words that come to mind, Ignore them Is not an option.

There may be freedom of speech to a point but there Is something called rights,

People are killed depending on how they choose to use their speech, there are rules.

Watch what you speak as there are those with the power to make you go away,

Freedom of speech Is a right, there are consequences when not done the way some

Want, watch what you say, freedom of speech holds a high price today.

FOUR SEASONS

FOUR SEASONS

” WINTER”

The bears begin their hibernation, plants slow down,

Shadows are seen across the mountains, they appear cold.

Trees are empty, naked without leaves, chilly days are here,

The sun shows its face in the morning a little later, to bed now early.

A time for some beautiful snow, a warm fire that gives a bright glow,

It’s Winter and Christmas will be here soon, a time of magic.

“SPRING”

As the temperatures rise just a bit, plants begin to awaken once more,

The sun shines brighter, the snow melts from the mountains everywhere.

Days are full of difference, warm or cold there’s new life all around,

It’s Spring! a walk in the park, a hike in the hills, stars in the clear night sky.

“SUMMER”

Warmer become the days, much warmer as the heat rises, the sun stays,

Rise to the morning, down to the beach where the breeze blows from the ocean.

Walk along the shore, feet in sand, above is the sky, blue with a mixture of clouds,

Camping, boat rides across the lake, sail beyond where a horizon line ends.

“FALL”

Days become slowly shorter, leaves falling from trees, colors of yellow, orange, green,

Fall, cooler weather, Halloween and trick or treat, a breeze is in the air, a change is here.

Thanksgiving is close, thoughts of pilgrims so long ago, turkey and a feast, celebrate,

Beautiful images in places where there really are four seasons to be looked upon.

FOREVER

FOREVER

Above from the wide open sky the sun shines ever so bright,

Will it warm our world always or one day say a farewell.?

What if the wind that we feel but cannot see goes away,

Will it again below across the hills and make the trees sway.

The glowing moon sits like a lighthouse in the sky,

Watching, always watching but for how long will it rise?

The rain falls from the sky, from the clouds that drift on by,

Will the drops take from the earth the thirst so as not to die.

See the animals run through the woods and across the plains,

Today they live somewhat free, tomorrow will they be?

We live, we love, dance to the music, sing from our hearts,

Search for the happiness that makes it all worth living.

There are things that may be never, things never lost,

Nothing lasts forever fore forever we are not.
