COLORS OF A NEW DAY

COLORS OF A NEW DAY

The sun peeks its face, takes a look at this new day,

Appears over the ocean, across the sky, bright, so bright.

Yellow and orange way up high, colors in the sky,

Warmth shines from it down, down below.

A shade of blue high above, white clouds are a mix,

Colors of a new day, colors of beauty in every way.

CLOUDS OF DARKNESS

CLOUDS OF DARKNESS

From where I stand, I look out at the wide open sky,

There in the distance, a wall of darkness slowly approaching my way.

The wind is blowing, carrying clouds through the air,

Feeling trapped where I am, no place to run.

Gaining on me with a powerful force, these clouds up so high,

Staring up at them in the dark, dark, sky.

Clouds of darkness are everywhere, following over me,

What can happen?, they can’t fall on me.

These clouds of darkness have everyplace to roam,

Up in the air is where they make their home.

CLOUDS IN THE WATER

CLOUDS IN THE WATER

Like the water is a mirror of a scene from the sky,

A floating river as the clouds drift on by, they drift.

Up in the air an ocean of clouds, waves of clouds,

Through the land a path runs free, clouds in the water.

CLEAR, CLEAR, SKY

CLEAR, CLEAR, SKY

What pictures are there when a sky is clear,

Is it just emptiness or a mind closed without imagination.?

Take a look and into it you’ll see,

What’s beyond if you’ll only dream.

The wind is there as it swirls with power,

Without clouds it is less observed.

Perhaps way up high a bird flies by,

A jet on a journey to some other land.

There’s a brightness to a sky that is clear,

You can see for miles if you open your mind to what’s up there.

When night falls in a clear, clear, sky,

Look up and see all there is to be.

CHAPTERS OF LIFE

CHAPTERS OF LIFE

We’ve all had our beginning, that place we call our hometown,

We’ll each of us have an ending, where and when we do not know.

Everyone starts out small and grows with time,

We age moment by moment in our given lifetime.

There’s a book that we all own, we make the cover,

The words are created from our everyday adventure.

Our chapters of life grow and are counted,

With every sunrise until the last sunset.

It’s an open book of endless pages until we stop writing,

A novel to be remembered by others.

Whom will judge the value or worth from our chapters of life,

Many will try, there will be those who did like it,

Perhaps some who won’t.

In the end it will be from the spirit in the sky.

CELTIC SOUNDS

CELTIC SOUNDS

Irish music from a far away land,

Mystical tunes, into my mind they are heard.

Soothing to the soul, these words listened too,

Closing my eyes, drifting into a dream state of peace.

These voices of angels singing so soft,

Echoes into your thoughts feelings of at ease.

Instruments of sound like a symphony of happiness,

Something of a heavenly miracle.

Celtic sounds from long ago,

Live on, and on like spirits in the wind.

CAVE OF DARKNESS

CAVE OF DARKNESS

Have you ever been In a cave, was It light wandering In,?

Did you venture further Into the dark, cold, wondering.?

How far In do you think this cave of darkness really goes,?

Caves exist all over the world, many different and unusual types.

Bears are known to be a common visitor as well as other animals,

Who can say how long these caves have been there and what story’s.

Maybe things of treasure have been buried and rest In there for centuries,

Are there those lost for such a long time now a part of every cave of darkness.?

Many have explored and searched for hidden valuables throughout time,

How many were lost, those who walked out were and are the fortunate ones.

A cave of darkness, mystery and adventure.

CATCH A DREAM

CATCH A DREAM

We chase, search out and run as fast as we can,

While we sleep the greatest things can happen,

Run do we very fast, jump so very high to touch the sky,

Jump on the roof top, flips in the air, slow motion if you please.

Always for me money floating down a stream, a pile in the street,

Just as it is grabbed by my hand disappears does it as I become awake.

We all have been there when a monster chases us and then we are elsewhere,

Dreams are always so mixed up, at times tiring as we are in places of mystery.

Floating in the air, suddenly in a bubble we drift onward to where nothing makes sense,

Catch a dream, hold on tight and bring it back home with you tonight, any night.

Catch a dream, dream, to be all that you hope to be, dream the perfect scene.

CARTOON LAND

CARTOON LAND

Remember the Flintstones, they lived in Bedrock,

The Jetsons were from the future, they were up high.

Scooby-Doo looked for food, mumbled words, always scared,

Popeye the sailor man sought strength from his Spinach.

Felix the cat and his magic bag of tricks,

Milton the monster blew smoke from his head.

Johnny Quest out there in space,

They called him space ghost, a boy, a girl, and a monkey.

The fantastic four all had their special power,

Captain America fought for all that was good,

Gigantor the robot, speed racer in his magic car.

The Amazing three and Superman of course,

Magilla Gorilla, Bugs Bunny, or the Road runner.

Yosemite Sam with guns in hand, Elmer Fudd after the rabbit,

They come from fantasy, imaginations of dreaming minds.

All live together forever, many more of their kind,

In cartoon land, it’s there where you’ll find.

BY THE NAME OF SOLOMON

BY THE NAME OF SOLOMON

Late eighteen hundreds in the North somewhere,

A young boy by the name of Solomon had a life.

From Virginia, Mississippi, his family traveled,

An older brother and of course a loving mother.

A father of no more but remembered and loved,

Together they worked a piece of land, all they had.

No longer slaves but yet enslaved in their world,

Solomon had a dream to learn and become something.

He ran away, saw the reality of what a brother had said,

He would have to go back home, for now, work the field,

A boy by the name of Solomon still dreamed, grew to be.
