ALWAYS A SHADOW

The sun comes up and the sun goes down,

They’re everywhere and always, make not a sound.

Shadows from clouds cast upon the ground,

As the sun goes down, shadows all around.

Shadows upon the mountains in the early morning light,

In the early evening, shadows that hide as darkness is in sight.

Always a shadow, shapes and sizes stretched out across the land,

Shadows of figures, like ghosts, phantoms here and there.

Always a shadow, we carry this with every step we take,

Always a shadow even with the light still upon our face.

FACE IN THE CLOUDS

Fluffy and white in the blue sky up so high, oh! so high,

Close your eyes and with your open mind dream too see.

The clouds move but there’s a face that watches down upon you,

Let your imagination take you up in the air where possibilities live.

There’s a face in the clouds, only for a short time does it exist,

May be the face of whatever you wish.

THE RAGING STORM

Like the wind I move with force through a chosen path,

At times so quiet, loud without warning.

As a tornado screams with havoc into the dark night,

I am fierce but I am also the quiet calm.

Thunder is booming, the hammer that strikes hard,

I am at times quite loud, sometimes not seen.

Lightning strikes fast and bright in many directions,

I may at times appear scary, I will not cause harm.

Like the falling snow, a blizzard passing through,

There lies in me the avalanche, the soft snowball tossed to you.

The raging river is swift, powerful as it makes its way,

I am strong, fast and head strong.

Watch the ocean as it moves to everywhere,

I keep moving in many directions, I am one.

A hurricane has an eye just as I have an eye,

Yelling out with anger, it sweeps across the land.

Like the hurricane I can be a monster or I might leave all alone,

The raging storm has beauty just as a man has his storm.

WHEN THE WIND BLOWS

What happens when the wind blows,

Trees sway in morning light, in the dark of night.

Blowing throught the branches, a tune in the sky,

Leaves floating to the ground do make a quiet sound.

When the wind blows where then does it go,

Across the wide open fields, through some beautiful hair.

When the wind blows who knows, beyond the mountains,

What destination, does it even know, the wind always blows,

When the wind blows it has forever some place to go.

EVERYONE HAS A STORY

Before our first breath of life, our first day recognized,

A book, blank on the inside, pages not yet written.

The cover plain without scene or color, our story begins,

This is our book until the last page written, everyone has a story.

We begin with that which we first see, pictures created,

We have the choice too write this ourselves or be written about.

Live our lives through our own eyes, walk and dream, page by page,

We will learn and experience many things as we travel our chosen path.

There will be times when a road taken is not the one we might desire,

We will come across every emotion created and attempt too deal with it.

Everyone has a story to write, write it yourself until the last page,

When it’s time to put that pen down, rest your weary head.

DEATH FOR MONEY

I’ll send your children far away,

They won’t come back so i’ll have my pay.

This war we have is not for real,

It makes no difference to me fore I don’t feel.

This thing won’t end, not for awhile,

Look at my face, see my smile.

Your sons will die but that’s okay,

We’ll just send more in harms way.

It’s death for money, why should I care,

I have no son to send over there.

I’m a coward, i’m not brave,

The last good president is in his grave.

My war on terror is so insane,

That’s only because I don’t have a brain.

So say goodbye to your loved ones,

We’ll ship them off, we’ll give them guns.

There’s not much more that I can say,

Just try and have a happy day.

“EVERYTHING”

“EVERYTHING”

Around me there are many things, they are something,

Together all become everything, not as one as they are different.

If it becomes that all these things around can not be found,

I am here alone, for the moment it stands that I am everything.

If I disappear will I become nothing and everything is around me,

Everything has so much to it as it is much more than we may even know.

For some everything is before them in their own backyard,

Within their home, everything is not only what they own,

Everything is a love, maybe only that which is important right in front,

Everything just might be all that we see.

SEE ME

In the morning light, see me with the sun upon my face,

I see you, do you see me standing here in the shade?

See me as I am young, running wild in the early day,

I do see you, I am also young standing under this tree.

You are still as I move away, see me, can you from far away,

I can still see you, see me as I follow you into this not forever day.

Walk with me as the shadows fill our surroundings, see me today,

See you close up as we slowly age beyond our play, see me also.

See me as the sun begins to fade, going down on our today,

See me we speak to each other, yesterday fades, faces of age today.

SOMETIMES I WONDER

I think of things that might have been, why they are,

The past is meant to be the way it was, I wonder.

If perhaps a different road, a moment taken to think,

Sometimes I wonder what might be, another person I be.

I have been blessed and I have had my share of painful things,

Decisions made, I wonder, an altered life maybe these things bring.

Everything appears to have a reason or so we may believe,

Coincidence, a choice made as we travel through our imperfect days.

Sometimes I wonder why I am here, a purpose not always so clear,

Sometimes I wonder, sometimes I wonder about this earthly place.

TO LEAVE THIS JUNGLE

Gather your things and walk away,

From where you are in this everyday.

There’s more to see than the way we live,

Out somewhere too a life we should.

Take a trip to a place of peace,

Out too where there’s a much slower pace.

Leave behind the animals and the struggle to live,

The fight for survival from which is hard to hide.

Get away from the loneliness of here,

Into a time, the way it should be.
