SOME THOUGHTS

It hurts when you realize they do not care,

Discarded as nothing, no longer there.

Grateful when my eyes open to a brand new day,

Although the world is scary, will today be okay.

Why do we fight, build bombs, and divide ourselves,

In the end there can be no winner, time will tell.

We love, we lose, a new season will begin, life goes on,

Work ourselves to death, work more than we live.

If so fortunate that we find that one true friend in life,

They come and they go, phony, filled with so many lies.

Life is worth living, every breath precious, at times I fear,

We mix the good and bad, we must persevere.

TELL ME WHO YOU ARE

You are there, somewhere in my life, you are not seen,

I know that you are afraid, there is no worry in me.

You’re out there somewhere hiding in the dark night,

Tell me who you are as you sleep quietly in the woods.

My phone rings, I know it’s you on the other side, you hide,

I should be afraid but something scares you, this is true.

Tell me who you are and maybe a little less lonely you are,

Something I can feel that tells me you are very real.

You do not stalk me as you are the one who is sought out,

You seek a friend as you run and hide from something,

Tell me who you are before you have no one at all.

I CAN’NOT BE FOUND

You will not see me because I am not there,

Even if you search for me everywhere.

I have no touch so do not try to feel me,

I can’not be found, i’m nowhere around.

Do not try to speak with me, there’s no one to hear,

I have not a face, waste no time with a stare.

I am not there, I am not anywhere,

I am not around, therefore I can’ not be found.

FROM THE BALCONY

I see the trees standing in the sky,

The cars go by as I watch from high.

Walking people going here and there,

Sometimes I wonder if they’re happy or in pain.

Do I really care when from the balcony I stare,

Without a name, to me they are not there.

The wind I feel as I am looking everywhere,

The sky is hazy, a quiet moment is where I am.

From inside I watch through the window,

The balcony is there, quietly I don’t really care what is out there.

ON YOUR BIRTHDAY

Remember those moments long ago when we stood in the snow,

I was quite young, you my mother were there, young with dark hair.

You took care of us all, Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall,

A thought of spaghettio’s on a stormy, snowy night, by your side.

We traveled far in distance just as we have in time,

We took walks together, you were there when I had fear and cried.

In between so many great memories, sadness and perhaps hard times,

You were always there, as children we did not really understand.

Not one of us is perfect, we surely stumble and fall, can not do it all,

You had your moments of doubt and pain, laughter and joy in your days.

Each day is a blessing if god again lets us open our tired, ageing eyes,

On your birthday, every one, from a loving son, may you always see the rising sun.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

TO FIGHT WITH THE DEAD

They can not defend so why do you fight,

Let them rest in peace, go on with your life.

Stab with a sword, keep swinging that hammer,

Curse them with words, hold onto your anger.

We all have our story, some pages not so perfect,

Opinions are many, do not judge till you peek in the mirror.

The past is now gone, let the page be forever turned,

Forgive while you still can, the living and the dead.

There are mistakes made, regrets in our lives,

It’s not wise to fight with the dead, what about the ones that you’ve made cry?

We think of the good in the ones that we lose,

Why hold onto their sins, it’s not what god would choose.

SUBCONSCIOUS

The inner mind has its own set of rules,

Physically you are the one in charge.

There’s a whole new game playing inside your brain,

Another part of your world that’s in control.

Your thoughts may be what you believe to be,

It tells you how to feel, it controls the wheel.

Our subconscious makes up the fantasy dreams,

What is thought while we are awake is so real.

It tells us lies at times, it makes us believe,

Impending doom, the fear that’s not real.

The subconscious mind holds secrets that we’ll

Not understand nor ever uncover,

We may find the solution but the cause remains hidden in time.

WHY DO THEY DIE?

Why do they die? as a child I laughed and cried,

Why do they die? I remember you, you went away, what could I do?

Your name was friend, wh did you go?

Why do they die? please lord, tell me why.

Is it a game that’s played, tell me now,

There’s a date with our name, why must we go?

What is the answer, only you will know,

Why do they die? please tell me why?

HEART OF STONE

Beats this heart, a strong yet fragile organ,

A complicated mystery that gives and sustains life.

There is no love in the heart, an emotion, state of mind,

We like to believe that a person has a big heart, not a good thing.

Speaking physically and emotionally, there are two hearts,

That one in your chest and a beautiful spirit of it that beats in your soul.

Some have a bad heart, a black heart that is sick with evil,

A heart of pure gold rests with those so gentle and kind.

The hardened heart that is created within a lifetime of mistrust,

A heart of stone, a piece exists in my spirit now as I’ve been hurt,

Let it grow I will not, keep chipping away to a heart of love and care.

TRAIL OF TEARS

They walk amongst us, they are our neighbors,

We do not recognize them fore they look the same.

Work each day they do at regular jobs,

We are given a smile from an unknown evil one.

They seem okay until they show a different face,

A trail of tears is what they leave behind,

The serial killer.
