IN THE LIGHT

Fully having faith Is to believe that you know no matter what happens,

Too find out that you are dying and may suffer through It all or go quickly

That there Is a better place, you will not ever again be In pain or sad.

You will not lay In a dark box alone with no breath afraid forever,

When you die what happens If you choose to stay, not want to go away.?

In the light, Is that where we are suppose to go, how will we know,?

What’s there In the light, Is It a path to the creator of all life.?

In the light will we see a spectacular sight, will their be family waiting,

In the light things are not known until It be our time to go.

When It’s time, with faith you’ll walk In the light without fright.

ACROSS THE DESERT I TRAVEL

My challenge this day, a trek across the always dangerous desert,

Pack my things, just myself and a backpack complete with all I need.

Dressed In jeans, hiking boots, long sleeved shirt, and hat I am ready,

Early morning as the rising sun stares down upon me, time to move.

Such a feeling to seem alone In the world step by step through the quiet

Morning while nature does Its own thing, I am watched as I walk.

Across the desert I travel with a breeze swirling around what surrounds,

The heat of the day has not yet arrived as I continue my quest through the desert land.

So much beautiful and unusual plant life, animals seen from a distance,

The sun Is moving, day Is disappearing with shadows forming upon this land.

I’ll soon make camp with the animals of the night, a fire so bright, warm with light,

When the morning comes then I will continue my journey until I am done,

Across the desert I travel.

HE VISITS MY DREAMS

I haven’t seen him for awhile, haven’t thought of him till now,

He would visit my dreams late Into the night, he stood outside.

I was alone In the house, the darkness was with me each time he came,

He knew that I was there just as I knew him, peek out the window I would.

When he visits my dreams I see him standing out In the dark, just standing,

He wears a robe of black with a hood so you can’t see his face, he’s In the wind,

There Is no one else around, always alone am I when he visits my dreams.

Why Is It so quiet, dark, and seems as If the world holds not another soul,?

This which I write Is a dream that on occasion does really visit me.

I wonder who he Is and where he Is, I’m glad he hasn’t been back,

Was there a reason for his visits, has he gone away so that I may dream In peace.

YOU’VE DARED TO DREAM, NOW DREAM SOME MORE

I remember your mother when once she was a little girl,

Playing in the yard, laughing, and running wild without a care.

The day came when you were here, a mothers daughter, a little girl,

You played in the sun, dreaming in your sleep when each day was done.

The little girl began to grow and with this the world got bigger before her eyes,

You took your first step when you stepped upon a kindergarten school ground.

Learning and playing, meeting young ones whom would share a piece of your life,

You’ve dared to dream as you made it a giant step further saying goodbye to high school.

You’ve dared to dream when now you are taking a most spectacular leap through college,

You’ve dared to dream, now dream some more as this ever changing world is yours to explore.

Whatever you wish to be is more than a possibility because it is you Lorinda who did dream,

Whichever roads you choose may they be great ones, safe, and full of happiness, you’ve dared to dream.

Congratulations Lorinda Uncle Keith

THEY LOVE THEIR PEOPLE

The love of a dog, they want only to be cared about, they are loyal,

How Is It that one could hurt, kick, abuse mans best friend.

They don’t want to sleep outside In the cold, Winter rain,

Chained to a tree In the hot, Summer sun Is not a tasty treat.

Slapped and have a rock thrown at them when they don’t understand,

Yelled at and told too get out of here when they just wanted to show love.

They love their people, feed them a snack, scratch their warm, furry back,

Throw a ball and see them run In the sun till It’s time to go Inside.

When It’s suppertime they’re ready to help, part of the family,

Time to relax, they have their spot, In the chair with you,

On the floor next to a fire, a dog has feelings too.

Watch a T.V. show with you, that’s what a dog will do,

Time to go to bed!, they love their people, goodnight.

ALONE IN THE DARK

Everyone Is gone, I look around, silence Is the sound,

Where did they go, I do not know, I am somehow alone.

A campsite of darkness Is a fun and peaceful place,

A warm fire, friends, and laughter will liven up the night.

What a difference It makes when you’re alone In the dark,

The lonely quiet that accompany’s a fear that something Is there.

There are two parts, different views on being alone In the dark,

Peace and time by yourself to breathe and think can be great.

Wondering what’s a danger or the silent dark that scares a man,

Fear of the unknown, afraid of being alone, alone In the dark.

VERY NICE TO HAVE KNOWN YOU

You’ve been my friend it seems from the beginning of time,

Where have the years gone since once we would laugh and run.

To the beach we traveled playing in the sand, waves at our feet,

Skateboards and icecream cones at a place we would meet.

Riding our bikes and messing around in the fields,

Basketball and flying kites, comic books under a tree.

We went to school and walked home together,

Swam in lakes, camped out under the stars.

Secrets we told that only we could know,

Friends from a long time ago, today we walk a little slow.

Very nice to have known you as today we still move along,

We sit here on this bench with memories of youth long ago.

JONATHAN AND ELIZABETH

Children, growing up together In a town, small with memories,

Boy and girl, friends from such a young age, playing games, walking In the rain.

Walking to school In the morning, laughing together In the Spring and Summer,

Sharing thoughts and at times secrets of Importance that weren’t meant for boy and girl.

They grew to be very close, this boy whom would be there to protect a girl so loved,

Jonathan was a kindhearted friend and let It be known that he would do for Elizabeth anything.

She In return cared so much for him that It was said death would be a beautiful thing,

Jonathan and Elizabeth were now teenagers, a love that would change In a special way.

Together often as life changed, soon adulthood would bring them to man and woman,

Happiness was theirs as most knew of their bond, the future was already written.

Life can be altered In an Instance as their hands would be pulled apart,

Jonathan would keep for awhile the only secret ever from Elizabeth, his sickness.

With a failing heart, a prom dream come true, a drive afterwards, a secret shared for two,

There’s a reason for all things as In a blink from the eye, one would surely die.

A car accident, slowly dying was his beloved Elizabeth, she would show the greatest love,

Her heart she would give to Jonathan just as always she had done, this for his life.

Elizabeth would forever live within Jonathan each day he awoke to the morning light,

Jonathan and Elizabeth, forever together and forever after they would be.

STANDING IN THE RAIN

It was dark, I glanced out of the window and saw him,

Tall with dark hair, a sweatshirt soaked from the falling rain.

Why was he out there, by a tree he stood watching the rain fall,?

Clouds of many, darkness was everywhere, he stood drenched.

I wasn’t going to open the door as I was curious but a little scared,

Was I mean for not showing care, He was a stranger, why was he there.?

Standing In the rain, where did he come from, what was his name,?

Good or bad, I did not care, I walked away and left him standing In the rain.

WAKE TO THE MORNING SOUNDS

Early it is before the sun rises, when in the darkness lies quiet,

The singing of birds can be heard from many directions.

A breeze within the morning can be listened to softly,

In the distance the sound of a car, sirens screaming.

Squirrels on top of the roof running, their sounds in the tree,

Squawking scrubjay resting on the wire, waiting for peanuts.

Coffee brewing in the pot, the sound of an alarm clock,

Warm shower water and some music on the radio.

Wake to the morning sounds, listen closely to that which is around.
