A BASEBALL DREAM
On a farm he grew up, the early days of the game,
A bat of his own was made from a tree that stood alone.
He had a name for his bat, a certain magic it contained,
Circumstances would get in the way, a dream put aside.
Disappeared without a trace until he arrived on a day,
His special bat carried in hand, this was to be his last
Chance.
For only a moment he would stand beneath the lights,
A baseball dream before he faded into the night.

DARKNESS IN AMERICA
DARKNESS IN AMERICA
Hatred, sickness, plots against our homeland,
They're coming,
They're here in this land, they don't hide as
Their faces are seen.
Work with you they do, maybe a smile as they
Pass you by,
As good people they come in from all sides, they
Don't have to sneak.
They step from planes with passports and go about
Their day,
Cruise do these monsters with no morals, on ships,
Welcome to our home.
We have darkness from sea to shining sea, borders
Are without safety,
They come from there just as they are over there
From here, grow with fear.
A flag they plan to replace, with a flag that waves
For over two hundred years,
Their message is clear, they say it with the murders
Of our people, we don't care.
As they become stronger with power and weapons we sit and wonder,
But It’s real,
What's really going on, can we trust anybody anywhere,
We hope, don't think so.
Darkness in America is growing fast, you can see it as
the sun shines bright,
Pray that a day does not come when our children need to carry a gun
In their hand. Keith Garrett
DAYDREAMER
DAYDREAMER
Forever lost in thought, imagination running wild,
Always wondering about things that can be, things
To see.
Possibilities are endless in a mind that dreams,
Reality is a constant but a daydreamer can escape
And see what he wants to be.
At times a story of fantasy is his dream,
Knows when to open his eyes.
Sees what's in front of him,
Never loses sight of that which can really be.
A daydreamer takes a break to catch his breath,
To imagine and understand what is and what is not.
There is faith and hope in his eyes,
Nothing so wrong as to dream, to keep one's self alive.

DAWN TO DUSK
DAWN TO DUSK
I say good night to you, my love and then
I dream of you,
Until another day arrives and life begins anew.
I say good morning in the dawn and greet you with
A smile,
Too thank you for the many ways you make the world
Worthwhile.
Your ever soft and soothing words that calm my wildest
Fears,
Your fond, forgiving nature when I bring you only tears.
The happy songs you sing to me with courage in your
Heart,
And your endearing letters when we have to be apart.
You are my hope and vision and my faithful, guiding light,
In every bright good morning, love, and every sweet good
Night.

MY FATHER
DARKNESS
" DARKNESS"
Beauty exists within it, things we can'not see,
It brings to me peace and solitude, I feel at ease.
The less I see brings me a calmness not felt by day,
Darkness can be such a scary place or peaceful.
There are those whom must live with darkness,
Some are however in a darkened place.
Darkness is a friend to others and foe to another,
Darkness holds something for each in this world.

CAN ANIMALS DO THIS?
CAN ANIMALS DO THIS
This is for the children, a story I tell,
Listen quietly, can animals do this?
Did you ever see a duck drive a truck,
Can a Baboon fly a rocket to the moon.
Have you ever seen a Giraffe laugh,
Did you ever watch a lion that was crying.
Do you suppose a snake would eat a piece of cake,
Does a mouse eat cheese and live in a house.
Can a frog sing to a barking dog,
Does a bird know a word, one that you've heard.
Can a cat laugh with a bat,
Did you ever see a moose kicking a goose.
What if a chimp could fly a blimp,
Do you think that a bear can fly through the air.
Maybe a horse can say of coure, of course,
Do you think that a cow can go meow.
Have you ever seen a goat drive a boat,
What about a sheep that swims so deep.
Can animals do this, what do you think,
Off to sleep, time to dream.

FOREVER
"FOREVER"
Above from the wide open sky the sun shines
ever so bright,
Will It warm our world always or one day say a
Farewell.
What If the wind that we can not see goes away,
Will It again blow across the hills and make the
Trees sway.
The glowing moon sits like a lighthouse In the sky,
Watching, always watching but for how long will
It rise.
The rain falls from the sky, from the clouds that
Drift On by,
Will the drops take from the Earth the thirst so as
Not to die.
See the animals run through the woods and across
the plains,
Today they live somewhat free, tomorrow will they be.
We live, we love, dance to the music, sing from our
Hearts,
Search for the happiness that makes It all worth living.
There are things that may be never, things never lost,
Nothing lasts forever fore forever we are not.

CREATE ME
CREATE ME
Whom shall I be, what kind is thought of in your mind,
You possess the imagination and wisdom to understand.
If you were to create me would I be of a good and kind
Heart,
Would I care about this world and be of help to a neighbor?
When you create me will you add compassion and love,
Will I try and change the world, not be of destruction?
Create me as a good human being otherwise do not waste
Your time,
"Do not create me at all"

CRIMINALS AND TRAITORS
CRIMINALS AND TRAITORS
Under siege, american soil on foreign ground,
They would take over, little regard for human life.
Dangerous games and politics from every side,
Lies are of plenty, faces of deception, who is on
Which side.
The mighty dollar is always on top in these worldly
Games,
Criminals and traitors sometimes go hand in hand,
Our flag was rescued in this foreign land.

BEAVER CLEAVER, ALL ALONE AT 211 PINE STREET
BEAVER CLEAVER,
ALL ALONE AT 211 PINE STREET
It seems like yesterday that we were a family,
I think of being little, hanging around with Wally.
My mother, June Cleaver was always around the house,
Dad, Ward Cleaver worked in an office, home every night.
We went to school in Mayfield, USA with friends
Remembered,
My friend Whitey has gone away, Mrs. Landers left our
Town,
Mr. and Mrs. Ruthorford have disappeared beyond
This place.
Dad had to leave one day, he didn't come through the
Door anymore,
Eddie and Lumpy left Mayfield a while back, I do
Remember,
Mom was tired from all the years and so she traveled
Onward.
I just got word that my older brother, Wally has just
moved away,
I miss my family, It's very quiet now here at our
House On Pine street.
Mom isn't in the kitchen making dinner or asking me
How my day was,
Dad doesn't call me downstairs to lecture me about my
Mistakes.
Wally isn't around calling me a little goof now, so
Many memories,
I am Beaver Cleaver, I am now all alone at 211 Pine
Street.
