IT AIN’T DYING I’M TALKIN’ ABOUT
He was blinded, a deep anger to hide his true feelings about the past,
Wasting precious time hiding from a young man, a certain truth to be told.
This ranger who spent his life by the law protecting and ridding the bad from his world,
A son who every day was close to him but had not a clue that this man with a badge was dad.
A friend for life, he fought and laughed each day by his side, they talked of life and dreams,
His son would learn of his connection to a father but not spoken from a fathers stubborn lips.
Talking about the end , a fact that all would die, something would someday take us away,
Hard times in a cruel, violent, world where a mans life for many reasons would be cut short.
Death for these friends and rangers was witnessed throughout their lives on many a trail,
Two men so different as they were in ways much the same, philosophy and stories told by a fire.
It ain’t dying i’m talkin’about, this friend with a zest for life, a man who tried to see the beauty of the day,
It’s living! to awake each morning with the breath of life my friend, take in every moment until the end.
