UNTIE MY SHOES
The night is dark and quiet, a breeze is in the air,
I’ll rest up for the night, barefoot and feeling alright.
The morning soon will come to life, open my eyes,
Put on my shoes and get ready for the day, a new day.
Work outside from sun till it’s done, heat or rain,
Whatever it takes to see the job done under the falling sun.
Whether it be sweat or cold I’ll make it young or old,
When the day is gone then it’s time to stroll home.
Tired feet but life is so sweet, In my yard again for the night,
Untie my shoes is the thing that I’ll do,
Off they go until the morning is known.
