THE DESERT HAS EYES

                   "THE DESERT HAS EYES"

Across the land, voyaging Into the hotness of the
 Powerful sun,

I tread slowly so that I do not perish on my quest to
 Finish, to weather the storm.

Many things' of Interest as I make my way through
 This obstacle,

Of rocks' and plants, born to this world of natural
 Wonder.

By myself, I've traveled for what appears' to be a
 Lifetime,

While the suns' now sinking Into the night as a cool
 Breeze awakes.

There's a fear being a prisoner to the Intense darkness,
 The loneliness,

Am I alone with what Inhabits' these surroundings',
 They're watching.

There are many eyes fixed on me, friend or foe, how
 Shall I know,

Some keep their distance, not wanting to attack, others'
 Are stalking.

Seeking to steal or cause great pain,

I've seen the living proof, I'll make It to where
 I'm going.

DECEMBER

                           DECEMBER

Snow covered mountain tops, wind blowing ever so cold,

Leaves of yesterday falling into Winter, trees of .
 Emptiness.

Storms of many coming to life, traveling the skies of
 Life,

Raindrops one by one then many at a time, down they
 Fall.

There's a chill that awakes, settling into the nights of
 The season,

Icy roads, lonely they seem, stretching endlessly Into
 The Distance.

Fog moves in from the ocean, creeping, floating across
 The Land,

Creating an eerie scene of what Winter can be, most
 Haunting.

On the move are those wanting this most joyous season,

A time of togetherness, a time of love and celebration
 For all.
               DECEMBER, THIS IS DECEMBER.

COLORS OF WINTER

                       COLORS OF WINTER

There are many colors of Winter you'll find,

Open your eyes, don't close your eyes.

Like the leaves that fall on the ground, you see,

A touch of yellow or brown they might be.

As the sun shines its light on a frosty morning of
 Cold,

The black sky says goodbye while the blue takes a hold.

Colors of Winter, so much to see,

Like snow coming down or lights on a tree.

These are the colors of Winter, I hope you'll see.

A WALK IN THE SNOW

                             A WALK IN THE SNOW

Come take a walk with me, yes! darling a walk in the
 Snow,

Hold my hand baby, walk with me as each other we'll
 Get to know.

I'm a little bit older as you are young, walk with me
 In the Winter sun,

Sweetheart, I know it is cold outside, that's why I give
 My jacket to you.

Reaching down for a snowball I make with my hands,
 These cold hands,

Throwing it at you in a playful manner as you stare
 At me with shock.

I'm laughing but you are bitter cold, pushing me down
With my face in the frosty snow,

We stand underneath a snow covered tree, laughing
 Together.

Push, push on the tree, watch as the heavy branches drop
The freezing, white, snow all over the both of us.

A walk in the snow, a walk with you.

A WINTERS STROLL

                    A WINTERS STROLL

Walking along the road with you alone,

Under the sky of a Winter cold.

Beneath the leafless trees all covered with snow,

A chilly storm that visited last night.

The woods are empty except for the deer we see,

Beyond, there are hills of white layered blankets.

Further in the distance, mountains are a sight,

Down from the sky, snow of white.

A Winters stroll just you and I, hand in hand,

A flowing river of Icy cold, where does it go.

Walk with me through this beautiful place,

We stroll along to a cloud covered lake.

Listen to the wind, miracles surround,

Winter is here, Icicles hang from rocks above.

It may be cold but a warm feeling within,

A Winters stroll, just you and me.

A FATHER, A WIFE, AND YOU

A FATHER, A WIFE, AND YOU

Wondering why my hurt Is so much, let me tell you,

Once upon a time this man was a boy, a boy with a dad.

Father left and went away, no goodbyes, no parades,

My love for him was very real, now just a dream, a dream.

Once together a wife had I, a family of five once upon
 A time.

Never Imagined that It could end, just a dreamer to
 Have been,

Now there Is you so what can this much In love man do,

You're here and there but are you anywhere, for me
 Anywhere.

A father, a wife, and you, two are lost, Is there still
 For me, You

FOR THIS RANCH, WILL YOU DIE?

FOR THIS RANCH, WILL YOU DIE?

This place of beauty has stood here for generations,

Built by a great, great, Grandfather a long time ago.

Times have changed in this world around a ranch,

The fight to keep what is yours has been since time
began.

You battle, climb the hill with sweat and tears, for
This ranch,

Family before you have sacrificed in ways you can't
Understand.

What does your heritage mean to you? will you die if they
Try to take your home?

For this ranch, will you die? will you shed a tear for
Those who bled before your time?

ALONG A COUNTRY ROAD

                                                                                                       ALONG A COUNTRY ROAD

These things I might find strolling along a country
Road,

From my mind I can create a day or reality along my way.

I see the sun rising in the early morning sky, my day
Begins,

Dream do I of a perfect setting, fields and hills of
Beautiful color.

Nothing can go wrong, not in this made up scene that
I want to be,

Swim do I in a pond that appears along a country road,
Quiet and alone alone.

There is a wind blowing through the trees, across the
field I feel,

Hay stacks scattered in a country dream, a farm where
I wish to be.

Along a country road all possibilities unfold, from a
Dream, All that can be seen.

WALK WITH ME!

                       WALK WITH ME!

I'm a bit mixed up Inside as there Is sorrow and pain,

When I think there Is no care or support for me then
There is you.

I feel that always I stand alone In this world of
Your creation,

But then you lift me up with an unexpected visitor
Of peace.

Can there be an evil, a dark cloud searching me out?

Stronger am I, fore this demon that hurts' me Inside
Will not conquer and steal my spirit.

Good will conquer evil and I know I'll be free,

So I ask of you, please! somewhere up there, up
Above me,

Where Is It you watch, less lonely I'll feel If you'll
Perhaps just "walk with me."

                                                                                                                    Keith Garrett

LISTEN!

                         LISTEN!

Close your eyes and open your mind,
Through your ears the sounds' will work Into your
Thoughts.

When the wind howls It makes a sound,
If a branch falls' from a tree, It cracks' on the
ground.

Listen as a plane screams' across the sky,
Too the sound of laughter In a yard near by.

What do you hear when you listen to a song,
The sounds' of Instruments playing along?

Do you listen when a love cries out to you?
Possibly what hurts her, you have not a clue.

To nature listen, It has something to say,
Enjoy the sounds' of everyday.
