LISTEN!

                         LISTEN!

Close your eyes and open your mind,
Through your ears the sounds' will work Into your
Thoughts.

When the wind howls It makes a sound,
If a branch falls' from a tree, It cracks' on the
ground.

Listen as a plane screams' across the sky,
Too the sound of laughter In a yard near by.

What do you hear when you listen to a song,
The sounds' of Instruments playing along?

Do you listen when a love cries out to you?
Possibly what hurts her, you have not a clue.

To nature listen, It has something to say,
Enjoy the sounds' of everyday.

                                                                 Keith Garrett

AN ALWAYS CHANGING SKY

                   AN ALWAYS CHANGING SKY

A light shade of gray, evenly covering that which
Lives below,

Clouds so heavy and thick, with moisture ready to
Rain down.

In the early evening as the sun fades, many shades of
Color,

After dark on a clear, starry night, you can see
Forever high.

Big, white, fluffy clouds of many shapes, sitting still
Above your head,

With the wind, you'll see their shapes change and drift
Slowly away.

Thunder and lightning visit a dark, stormy day, the sun
Is there,

Hiding beyond the blanket of nature, the sun still shines
Without sight.
An always changing sky, never the same throughout any
Given day,

The sky is always there, it is the elements that move
Through and change it.

TO SIT IN THE SAND

                   TO SIT IN THE SAND

By myself with the wind in my face,

Watching out towards the horizon, i sit in the sand.

Above, only sky that has not an ending to my eyes,

Birds that fly, drift silently on by.

The waves are a sight, crashing on the beach,

Who would be the man who sat here once and dared
To dream?

To sit in the sand, warm to the touch of my feet,

Thoughts fill my wandering mind, what things do all of
This teach?

To sit in the sand, peaceful is where I am,

Memory's of times, all that I did in life,

                                                                                      Felt from inside.

JUST ANOTHER DAY

                                                                                               JUST ANOTHER DAY

The sun comes up, taking the darkness away,

Sounds from trees, birds are awake for this day.

Whether it be clouds or rain, a walk down a street,

Just another day but never the same way.

Life and the beauty with it is seen for only so many
Hours a day,

Take it not for granted as the gift of sight is not
promised always.

Just another day or something new comes our way.

FEAR

                        " FEAR"

To walk alone, the growl of an unleashed dog,

In the dark of night, with nobody else home.

A crowd of people watching as you attempt to speak,

Thoughts' of the past, dreams' of what yesterday may
Bring.

Crumble to the ground as the fear surrounds' with no
Sound,

Do not cry, do not walk In circles, do not run, do
Not hide.

If eyes try to see through your windows' of home,

Is It the thoughts' In your mind or reality of the
Known.

Fear wears' a face, It has a body and mind, It thinks'
And sees,

It remembers' the painful monster, It Is you and me.

                                                                        Keith Garrett

WHAT MAKES GOD SAD?

                      WHAT MAKES GOD SAD?

The wonders of the world, for us he made,

A cool felt breeze on a Summer's day.

Mountains that stand so tall up above,

Oceans and rivers, that which does live in them.

What makes God sad is the hatred towards one another,

The destruction of land for a dollar put in hand.

Thinking of only one's self, perhaps not lending a
Helping hand.

Murder, the taking of a life, this wasn't his plan.

Pollution of lakes and streams, toxic waste not dreamed,

The air being destroyed, does anybody even care.

Abuse of all that is here, what man values is not what
He shared,

What makes God sad should bring shame to this world.

       Keith Garrett

REMEMBER THIS MAN

                   REMEMBER THIS MAN

He lived in a time of war and pain,

A knight of a King, a warrior with a name,

On an island that rests across the sea,

Remember this man who fought in old England.

Centuries ago, stories of old, a time of blood,

Lived by the sword, a fighting man on a horse.

What was his name, does it matter this day,

Did he sacrifice, did this man make a change.

What was accomplished by the blood on his sword,

He killed for a king, a man on a throne.

Tears in his eyes, perhaps on the day he did die,

With his last breath did he ask forgiveness to the sky.

     Keith Garrett

STRENGTH AND POWER

                     STRENGTH AND POWER

With so much force and power am I,

Formed In the beginning, only time knows just why.

I travel and move up and down,

Over and under, my crash forms a sound.

All that lives here answers to me,

These creatures are many, on land they're not to be.

I move along across the sand,

Sometimes I'm sitting calm, other times, high I'll
Stand.

Everywhere Is seen by me,

I've visited far off places just like thee.

Throughout time many have sailed across my path,

At times kind I am to them but so many have felt my
Wrath.

I am strength and power, I am the ocean.

                                                                                                                                   Keith Garrett

WHERE DID YOU GO, MATHILDA?

               WHERE DID YOU GO, MATHILDA?

I saw you In the morning, slept with me you did last
Night,

A tear In your eye but yet you did not cry, a time
For goodbye.

The sun was shining bright, I saw you last night beneath
A full moons' light,

The bed has cobwebs, only a trace of where once a smile
rested beside me.

Love was as I once loved, forever was today and tomorrow
Never knew,

Where did you go Mathilda, where are you now, why did
You forget?

A cool breeze visits' an open window, the stars' hide
Within the searching clouds',

I saw you last night as I drifted beyond a dream, when
I awoke, there was only me.

Where did you go Mathilda, why did you go away, where did
You go my Mathilda?

Why was It, you could not stay.
                                                                       Keith Garrett

WITH EYES CLOSED

                     WITH CLOSED EYES

Many things' are noticed when one can't see,

Against our face the wind, or a bird chirping In a tree.

From the air, the sound of a plane soaring by,

Thunder claps as loud as a sonic boom.

People laughing with each other, driving past,

Dogs' barking In a near by yard as they're listened to.

The sound of music heard through an open window,

Two people In love saying goodbye at the door.

There are many, many things' we notice with closed eyes,

Not only the darkness that's' with us Inside.

The mind will open at the time our eyes close,

And see more than can be Imagined In this dark world.
