TEACH ME TO LEARN

TEACH ME TO LEARN

At times the words are heard inside, the sentences scrambled,

Easy to say yes! I understand, Harder to know the meaning of what’s said.

We can  not do the work if we are not shown how to perform,

If we do not get the picture then we do not comprehend.

Teach me to learn so that I may understand and a lesson is mine,

From a thought to a word, a sentence is formed, I do hear.

Practice with my ears and mind to overcome an obstacle,

A disability to conquer, teach me to learn, I will understand.

TALK TO HIS HEART

TALK TO HIS HEART

Speak words that are truly felt from inside, he will listen,

Hear what you have to say is what he will do when you open up.

It might appear that he is not there anywhere but speak your words,

Talk to his heart and he will hear you, know will he of your love and faith.

Talk to his heart and he will reach out to you, quietly as he seems so far away,

He’s in a different place right now, a much different state of mind.

Talk to his heart and a heart will in return say many loving things back,

Talk to his heart, two hearts connected from separate places.

TAKE SUPPER WITH ME.

TAKE SUPPER WITH ME

The sun was setting, shadows stretched out beyond the hills,

A breeze suddenly came forcing leaves from the aging trees.

Chilly on this night as a pile of wood rests waiting for a warm fire,

A roof over this mans head, supper on the stove, and a bed to call my own.

Step out do i to have a smoke from my pipe, relaxing while a meal is cooking,

I see in the distance a stranger with body movement of desperation, pacing.

Examine the situation do I as this most lonely, scared person, loiters,

Call to him I do, are you okay! I watch as this soul looks my way,

Be wary of strangers I think to myself but there is no worry here.

Come in out from the cold and take supper with me, it’s your choice,

I was taking a chance, in the end, the chance I took changed someone’s life.

FORGIVENESS

FORGIVENESS

Not always earned as the gift is many times given,

Forgiven is the man or woman, not without anger kept.

I forgive you says the man you could care less about,

Never an apology, only, I’m sorry you feel this way I say.

Forgiveness may be easy in some way, feelings are gone away,

Let it go, the pain they have shown to you, say goodbye today.

STRANDED ON THE MOON

STRANDED ON THE MOON

Left here for a while, what is needed lay at my side,

There is no air but the gift of breath is with me now.

From this place, it is that the universe is alive,

In all directions, everything created is before these eyes.

Comets zoom by with the greatest of speed,

Stars are bright, every day appears as night.

Asteroids are somewhere out there, everywhere,

I sit here stranded on the moon among the cosmos.

The sun is so bright with fire, burning in the dark,

The only thing i can not see is heaven, where are you.?

The earth is spinning faster than I have ever imagined it to,

Like a dream to see the oceans’ and a world not so big

Compared to what is seen from here.

STANDING IN THE RAIN

STANDING IN THE RAIN

It was dark, I glanced out of the window and saw him,

Tall with dark hair, a sweatshirt soaked from the falling rain.

Why was he out there, by a tree he stood watching the rainfall,?

Clouds of many, darkness was everywhere, he stood drenched.

I wasn’t going to open the door as I was curious but a little scared,

Was I mean for not showing care, He was a stranger, why was he there.?

Standing In the rain, where did he come from, what was his name,?

Good or bad, I did not care, I walked away and left him standing In the rain.

SIRENS IN THE NIGHT

SIRENS IN THE NIGHT

What is it that takes from us the quiet peace of the night,

Sitting back relaxing, sounds come screaming from a distance.

Painful to the ears and mind, not pleasant this sound at times,

Blessings of music if at this moment a life may be on the line.

Lights of beauty or lights of darkness and pain are noticed in the dark,

Different lights and sirens depending on what danger haunts the night.

A fire in a house, a soul stricken with sickness takes a team of heroes seen,

Crime in the streets, those without morals come out after the sun fades away.

Another type of man and woman steps out into the dark when bad shows up,

Sirens in the night, sirens of peace, sirens, and lights that might save a life.

SHE’S A DREAMER

SHE’S A DREAMER

She sits under a clear, starry night sky,

Praying to the night, wishing, just wishing.

Flowers all around this beauty of the night,

Long flowing hair with a body so nice, she.

She’s a dreamer, alone but peaceful, never lonely,

She’s a dreamer, happiness lives within this princess.

SOUNDS OF A LIFETIME

SOUNDS OF A LIFETIME

What have I heard, the wind blowing through the trees,

A dog barking many times in my ear.

High in the sky, I’ve heard planes soaring by,

As a boy, the voice of a person reading to me, a story.

The voices of many who speak out to a world,

From my beginning, the sounds of children crying in pain.

I’ve listened to a mother and father who have said to me many things,

The blast of bombs dropping, gunfire in the night.

Laughter from those the happy ones, at peace with themselves,

Echoes of victory from the bad that is done.

With words from their hearts, they sing out songs,

I listen with an ear, music of the world.

I listen to love, I’ve heard all the hate,

Sounds of a lifetime, my memory in time.

The sounds of a world so old, what do you hear.?

SHE LIVED IN THE WOODS

SHE LIVED IN THE WOODS

Hidden from sunlight, beneath the tall aging trees,

Deep in the woods, alone lived she.

A different kind of world, quiet except for the creatures that be,

A woman so aged, seems that she’d been here for eternity.

So far below that which grows, the falling rain can barely touch,

In a rickety old cabin, she had not much.

Only sounds of the woods kept her company,

In a dark, lost, existence, she lived to be so old, not of loneliness.

Many things did she to occupy her moments of a life meant to be,

Never a face shown to her, only memories of childhood dreams.

She lived in the woods, somewhere you see,

An old, old, woman gone and not missed, but who was she.?
