DAYS IN A FOG

DAYS IN A FOG

Lost I have felt for some days in a fog,

Something to make me feel better, does not work.

This battle has been mine for some years gone by,

To stop one and to start another is not so free.

Foreign substance does change a life but not always nice,

Saving myself from a pain and fear I do sacrifice.

Days in a fog have been a recent thing that must pass,

I have not been the same since I took what they gave.

Everything has stopped as I can not see my way,

Altered has been my daily being, I will find my way to light.

DAY DREAMER

DAY DREAMER

Forever lost in thought, imagination running wild,

Always wondering about things that can be, things to see.

Possibilities are endless in a mind that dreams,

Reality is a constant but a day dreamer can escape

And see what he wants to be.

At times a story of fantasy is his dream,

Knows when to open his eyes.

See what’s in front of him,

Never lose sight of that which can really be.

A day dreamer takes a break to catch his breath,

To imagine and understand what is and what is not.

There is faith and hope in his eyes,

Nothing so wrong as to dream, to keep one’s self alive.

DAWN TO DUSK

DAWN TO DUSK

I say good night to you, my love and then I dream of you,

Until another day arrives and life begins anew.

I say good morning in the dawn and greet you with a smile,

Too thank you for the many ways you make the world worth while.

Your ever soft and soothing words that calm my wildest fears,

Your fond, forgiving nature when I bring you only tears.

The happy songs you sing to me with courage in your heart,

And your endearing letters when we have to be apart.

You are my hope and vision and my faithful, guiding light,

In every bright good morning, love, and every sweet good night.

MY FATHER

DARKNESS

” DARKNESS”

Beauty exists within it, things we cannot see,

It brings to me peace and solitude, I feel at ease.

The less I see brings me a calmness not felt by day,

Darkness can be such a scary place or peaceful.

There are those whom must live with darkness,

Some are however in a darkened place.

Darkness is a friend to others and foe to another,

Darkness holds something for each in this world.

HER SOUL, A THOUSAND YEARS OLD

HER SOUL,

A THOUSAND YEARS OLD.

Her face, a look that says she comes from a different place,

A smile that lights up within a darkness, so young but old.

She sings out with an operatic sound, mesmerizing to the ear,

Into a state of wonder that will take you away, watch her eyes.

Appears does she as a little girl, maybe from a long ago world,

Sings as if she has lived lifetimes, her voice echoes with years,

It is that her soul could be that of a thousand years old.

DARKNESS IN AMERICA

DARKNESS IN AMERICA

Hatred, sickness plots against our homeland, they’re coming,

They’re here in this land, they don’t hide as their faces are seen.

Work with you they do, maybe a smile as they pass you by,

As good people they come in from all sides, they don’t have to sneak.

They step from planes with passports and go about their day,

Cruise do these monsters with no morals on ships, welcome to our home.

We have darkness from sea to shining sea, borders are without safety,

They come from there just as they are over there from here, grow with fear.

A flag they plan to replace with a flag that waves for over two hundred years,

Their message is clear, they say it with the murders of our people, we don’t care.

As they become stronger with power and weapons we sit and wonder but it’s real,

What’s really going on, can we trust anybody anywhere, we hope, don’t think so.

Darkness in America is growing fast, you can see it as the sun shines bright,

Pray that a day does not come when our children need to carry a gun in their hand.

CROSSING OVER

CROSSING OVER

I lived yesterday, it was a different year, an ending to many things,

Some don’t stop as they are on going beyond those past days.

I went to bed last night falling asleep as the clock ticked away,

When the clock struck twelve I was somewhere in a dream.

Crossing over into tomorrow, another year without me,

Some would say I missed the New year but I couldn’t stay behind.

Is it a different year or merely a changing date on a calendar we made,

Is it possible to be left behind if we don’t accept the changing times.?

Will I be lost in yesterday as i don’t believe in that which the world holds today,

We are here together on this new day, we go forth from here and pray,

Crossing over into a new year, a barrier broken or just a continuing journey.

CRIMINALS AND TRAITORS

CRIMINALS AND TRAITORS

Under siege, american soil on foreign ground,

They would take over, little regard for human life.

Dangerous games and politics from every side,

Lies are of plenty, faces of deception, who is on which side.

The mighty dollar is always on top in these worldly games,

Criminals and traitors sometimes go hand in hand,

Our flag was rescued in this foreign land.

CREATE ME

CREATE ME

Whom shall I be, what kind is thought of in your mind,

You possess the imagination and wisdom to understand.

If you were to create me would I be of a good and kind heart,

Would I care about this world and be of help to a neighbor?

When you create me will you add compassion and love,

Will I try and change the world, not be of destruction?

Create me as a good human being otherwise do not waste your time,

“Do not create me at all”

CONVERSATION WITH A FRIEND

CONVERSATION WITH A FRIEND

Where have you been,? I’ve been searching for so long,

I tried to call you on the phone but you were no longer home.

I went to the places where we use to be,

Just standing there in the wind, memory’s of a friend.

I grew up just as you did, life changed and I went away,

There were many things for me to see, living my dreams.

I meant to call but as time went by, out of sight, out of mind,

A woman came into my life, my past was left behind.

So tell me friend what have you been doing,?

I stayed behind, watching the world go by,

Children of three and a wife no more to be.

Worked to survive, became older did I,

A roller coaster ride, I’ve had in my time.

I’m glad we found one another, I’ll soon be coming home,

I went away but I’ll be coming back that way.

We’ll stand together one more time,

Somewhat older as you are you and I am me.
