MORE THAN A THEORY

MORE THAN A THEORY

I can see the world crumbling, weighed down by evil,

It’s overpowering the good and can be seen in many ways.

Will the world soon disappear or change its ways,

More than a theory are many things I think,

Assassinations and lies to the people are a reality.

John Wilkes Boothe did not act alone, I don’t think so,

James Earl Ray, was he really alone on that sad day,

Lee Harvey Oswald, who was the rest, what were their names?

Sirhan Bishara Sirhan, did he act alone, will we ever know,

More than a theory, so many lies, unanswered questions,

More than a theory, corruption and guilty lies.

BETWEEN WHAT IS AND WHAT IS NOT

BETWEEN WHAT IS AND WHAT IS NOT

The universe exists all around us but do aliens really exist,

We can see the sun resting in the sky, no pot of gold over a rainbow.

Mountains formed, standing above so tall, not a bigfoot between the trees,

The moon is for us a reality, no face or a man lives up there alone.

Ireland and green grass are for real, across the sea they do appear,

Leprechauns I have never seen, four leaf clovers bring luck in a dream.

Castles of old stand on many lands, stories of them for centuries are told,

Magical spells and fire breathing dragons, were they ever seen or felt.

Between what is and what is not are fables and tall tales handed down,

Fantasies and all that is real live in our minds or before us we see.

WHAT A STORY A FACE MAY TELL

WHAT A STORY A FACE MAY TELL

Moving like robots it is this thing our world now does do,

Their faces I watch and stare into as I make my way through life.

Smiles are a surprise when as I’m walking they pass me by,

There’s a look, an expression that speaks out loud with a silent cry.

I see a young woman with a tear in her eye, recently crying but why,

An angry picture an older man makes, his face has much to say.

Scared a little boy cries, all alone standing, no other waits by his side,

One walks along singing not a song, does not care, mean is very clear.

Frustration, despair, worry, and grief are masks worn in our everyday,

May the grace of god help to take these away, faces of love and happiness be again,

What a story a face may tell, look deep as it lies there without words.

IT FELL FROM THE SKY

IT FELL FROM THE SKY

It was a clear, warm, starry night, I was feeling alright,

Quiet as the crickets were singing from the dark.

My dog barking at whatever roams in the night,

I find myself here in the country, beautiful as it is.

No complaints in this place away from the noisy world,

For a moment a strange silence came over my surroundings.

My dog was barking but what it was could not be seen by me,

Suddenly the wind not seen howled across the open land.

Dust was blowing, no sound of anything else could be heard,

A rumbling could be heard while the ground shook violently.

A high pitched noise echoed from everywhere, my eyes stared,

A bright light flashed in the night, I saw this, it fell from the sky.

HILLS’ OF DARKNESS

HILLS’ OF DARKNESS

Through the hills’ I walk to find a place,

Of peace and happiness for a home, I’ll make.

Escape I will from times of darkness,

Into the light of day where I want to be.

Leave behind things’ of the past,

Onward I walk till I find my path.

As my travels’ through the hills’ continue,

See do I clearer from my eyes.

These hills’ of darkness I leave behind,

Out In the open, of better things’ I’ll find.

REAL AND MAKE BELIEVE

REAL AND MAKE BELIEVE

The sun rises when the night disappears,

The moon has no cheese, the man does not appear.

Love can be very real, pretending to love, a sad ordeal,

Hate is real, thoughts of murder over it, a nightmarish fairytale.

A walk along the beach a reality to be seen, sky will not fall down,

I have seen sadness fore it is not make believe, happy may not be real.

The world is full of beauty and in a state of scary affairs, it’s seen as no fantasy,

Cartoons are not so real just as heaven is real but a fantastic dream not yet seen,

Real and make believe, what a child believes, an adult’s living reality of dreams or screams.

KILLER WITH A HEART

KILLER WITH A HEART

To be left alone, loneliness has its price, kills tonight,

Leave him in peace, no second chance for you will be.

His life is a dance from day to day, killer all the way,

For the money, a job well done, never is this for fun.

You woke the demon when you killed his dog, stole his car,

Why couldn’t you leave well enough alone, now you’re done,

Killer with a heart, a look upon his face, simply leave him be.

AN ACT OF FAITH

AN ACT OF FAITH

Is there trust in yourself, what trust in others,

How far would you walk for another, what would you give?

Are you of a good heart even if in the end there is no reward,

Do you expect something in return for putting your life on the line?

Would you run out in the street to save a child or one in a burning car,

Is it a question of a moral value, fear and life is a thought that comes to mind?

An act of faith, would you take a chance, do anything for friend or man,

Would you give of yourself if there could become a certain end?

A LIST OF THINGS TO BE

A LIST OF THINGS TO BE

Never an astronaut, dancing slowly upon the moon,

Flying in a jet across the sky, no, not did I ever fly.

A football star throwing the ball far, a dream that won’t be,

Under the lights, a victory on a Superbowl night.

What is it like to be a movie star pretending to be many things,

Known everywhere, this is not what I was born to be.

An Olympic star, a racer of cars, I wanted to be but that’s not me,

A great writer, a hero of sort would be something I might be.

A rescuer of the down and out, a conqueror of homelessness,

I may not be an Einstein of genius, I am good enough for me,

A list of things to be, how much can one man need?

KOBE, THE COURT IS EMPTY

KOBE, THE COURT IS EMPTY

Young with a smile so bright, on the court you lit up the night,

Wizard of the bouncing ball, for twenty years you gave your all.

Down the floor with a magical touch, a fake and a dribble to the left,

Down the court, you drive, into the air, under your leg, slam dunk!

From city to city you traveled, left your mark on many a basketball floor,

Most valuable player, championships of five, you were a force of magical delight.

Kobe, the court is empty, your spirit does jump shots in the dark of night,

For eternity you are a champion in some heavenly light, where are you tonight?

The staple center will forever be your second home, now in a spiritual world you roam,

Shoot that ball! listen to the cheers from all souls that will hear, daughter so dear.

The buzzer sounds, the game is over, you won the game, time for you to go away,

Take that trophy in your arms, forever you will be Kobe, a far away superstar.
