THE RIDER

                     "THE RIDER"

He'll ride In the morning, through the day travels
 The road,

High upon the hills, a shadow beneath the clouds,
 He rides.

Into the wind, the rain blowing against his face,
 He rides,

The snow falls as through the mountain passes he
 Is moving.

A man with no name, throughout the land maybe a glimpse,

He's known only as the rider, carrying whatever for hire.

This horse he rides with colors of solid black and
 White spots,

A demon creature, wicked with speed like the wind.

Brown and black hat worn on his head gives a mysterious
 Appearance,

A coat so long for cover and warmth shields him from
 Weather, the rider.

Boots on his feet of dark, broken In pattern can be
 Noticed in the stirrups,

This man of the land rides and rides just he and his
 Faithful companion.

Like a ghost so quiet he roams the wild wilderness
 Of life,

He's known as the rider, Into the night he rides.

REFLECTIONS

                  REFLECTIONS'

Like the sunlight on a clear window, my Image
 Appears,

Thoughts of yesterday bring a picture of you to
 My heart.

Wandering back to you Is a place In my dreams at night,

Of the past It Is a part of you, live do you In a piece
 Of my today.

On lakes and rivers, oceans and wet ground after a
 Storm,

Reflections of a kind or memories brought to our minds.

Wishing, wondering what might have been,

Backwards In time to watch has gone by, time.

Mirrors are looked Into and looking back are the faces,

Reflections of another kind, thoughts that we find.

Images of all kinds, like being children somewhere back

 In our minds.

PAGES

                       PAGES

My life starts' out like a book, not yet a cover,

Nothing Inside, page one still not printed.

My story constantly being written with every breath,

How many pages there will be not known till the end.

This title was Imagined before my creation,

Cover to cover Is mine to write as I walk my life.

With each turning page I Illustrate my own time,

The one before this just a memory In my mind.

Stay open It does until my story Is told,

Until I've been published, this mans' book will
 Mot be closed.

A MOMENT IN TIME

                  "A MOMENT IN TIME"

A speck of dust, a trickle of water,

Soon would blow with the wind and dry Into nothing.

Our time Is now fore we are a whisper wanting to
 Be heard,

A short period for laughter, remembered for what
 We leave.

For so long has time existed, the world, the universe
 So large,

We are but a fragment, a particle of all that was
 Created.

A moment In time was this gift we were given from
 God above,

A moment to see and love all there Is to understand
 From this.

Where we go from here we shall not know, but hold
 No fear,

Like many fallen leaves from a tree we are one, we
 Disappear.

                     Keith Garrett

I’LL SEE YOU SOON

              I'LL SEE YOU SOON

It's time for me to go, I'm ready now and I'm tired,

Don't say goodbye, wipe away those tears.

I have to let go, the fight in me is done,

My bags are packed so put me on the train that roams
 The heavenly tracks.

I won't be coming back, I just wanted you to know,

My love for you fills my heart, I'll see you soon.

Our relationship lives on, if ever you need me love,

Stand and face the blowing wind, just call out my name.

BETWEEN GOD AN ME

                     BETWEEN GOD AND ME

Conversations I have had on many occasions in my life,

Have you ever listened? yes, I believe you have quite
 A bit.

The answers to the questions I have asked have been
 Mysterious,

I may not at times agreed with you just as you were
 Disappointed with my path.

We have a relationship, we both know not as close as
 We might be,

I've tried to be a good person but not as good as
One can be I can see.

These things between god and me are never perfect,
 Maybe someday,

I'll keep on trying, I know you'll listen always and
Answer in ways not so easy.

I wonder why things go the way they do, the struggles
 And at hard times,

Lessons to be learned I'm sure of, are pain and
Suffering ours so that we appreciate?

Between God and me are many more things to be learned
 And seen, together we'll be.

A VIEW WORTH SEEING

           A VIEW WORTH SEEING

Fortunate if you are to see throught the darkness,

For granted do not take the gift of light, always night.

Scenes and visions from the mind are wonderful at times,

To open your eyes and nothing rests in your sight a
 Fright.

A view worth seeing comes to the grateful eyes day or
 Night,

The morning light with the birds beautiful in your sight.

Wherever you go a picture of color awaits, always
 Changing,

Each day a different view, open your eyes to a view
 Worth Seeing.

I’M GETTING OLDER

              I'M GETTING OLDER

I first opened my eyes, once tiny and bright
 To this world,

A memory I do hold but remember not as I was
 A baby.

Pictures of my life are few compared to the window
 Of my mind,

Once only a child, things I knew were also few, children
 That played

With this child are lost with time, always in my mind.

The world seems smaller as my life has spread further
 With the passing days,

I'm getting older, once I was a young teenager moving
 Ever so fast.

Birthday to birthday comes a new number pinned to my
 Aging soul,

Grateful am I with a much appreciated thank you and
 Love of God.

That he has given me life this long, I hope and pray
 That one I'll

Be forever remembered and once in a while thought of
 By you,

I'm getting older, maybe a touch wiser, possibly a
 Better me.

I'm getting older, remember who I am, my name is Keith,

I am a mortal man living in this gift, laid in my hand.

IT AIN’T DYING I’M TALKIN’ ABOUT

IT AIN'T DYING I'M TALKIN' ABOUT

He was blinded, a deep anger to hide his true
 Feelings about the past,

Wasting precious time hiding from a young man, a certain
 Truth to be told.

This ranger who spent his life by the law protecting and
Ridding the bad from the world,

A son who every day was close to him but had not a clue
That this man with a badge was dad.

A friend for life, he fought and laughed each day by his
Side, they talked of life and dreams,

His son would learn of his connection to a father but not
Spoken from a father's stubborn lips.

Talking about the end, a fact that all would die,
Something Would someday take us away,

Hard times in a cruel, violent, world where a man's life
For many reasons would be cut short.

Death for these friends and rangers was witnessed throughout
Their lives on many a trail,

Two men so different as they were in ways much the same,
Philosophy and stories told by a fire.

It ain't dying I'm talkin' about, this friend with a zest
For life, A man who tried to see the beauty of the day,

It's living! to awake each morning with the breath of
Life My friend, Take in every moment until the end.

GREEK GOD OF THE SKY

                 GREEK GOD OF THE SKY

It rests way up high, giant in the dark of night,

So far away, when was it formed, millions of years
 From today.

Beyond the stars, spinning in outer space, thirteen rings
 Around its face,

Father of the sky, seventh planet from the sun, will you
 Ever perish and go away?

You go by a name known to all from the beginning of man,
 Uranus be your name,

Quite strange as you spin forever tilted on your side, a
 Collision be the reason why.

You orbit with others of names which have been formed so
 Many human lifetimes,

Beyond the Earth, space is a place of much mystery just
As You hold a mystery of your own.
