“BROKEN”

” BROKEN”

There is another way to see our world and lives,

More to strive for, to make better as we grow.

If we would see from the start there can be improvement,

Imagine, set it in your mind that all things are not perfect,

Material, physical, all pieces of life are in fact, ” broken”

We build and put back together, fix with our hands and minds,

We improve by learning, listening, from less we can have more.

Is “broken” the way we should see all around us too improve,

The time is now to rebuild, put those pieces together, keep mending.

BROKEN HEARTS

BROKEN HEARTS

When I looked into their faces I saw hopelessness, lost,

Contact from their eyes was little, I saw shame, it’s ours.

We made and brought sandwiches and hot coffee to the hungry,

He was sitting there at a table in the park where many others gather.

Bundled in the clothing worn mostly every day they are people, human beings,

They each have a story to be told, listened too as they all have no home.

Called worthless, society as a whole turns their backs on them, are they not worthwhile,

I could feel the broken hearts from where I stood, a young one my girlfriend asked “are you hungry”,?

Yes! he replied Immediately, eating a sandwich in seconds, other words, “I haven’t had coffee in awhile.

These things taken for granted by most, I feel some shame as I worry about myself and my pain,

I didn’t put them there, this i know, i have the power to make a piece of Christmas for them better,

A handshake and a Merry Christmas back to us they replied, broken hearts, piece by piece mended.

BROKEN GLASS

BROKEN GLASS

Without any shoes, I carefully walk,

Each step I take a chance to be cut.

All around me, I can’t see every piece,

One is sure to find me if cautious I’m not.

Where are my shoes, why aren’t they on,?

A lot safer I’d be, less chance to be hurt.

There’s broken glass everywhere,

Watch the way you step and you’ll not be wounded.

BREATHE FOR ME

BREATHE FOR ME

Step outside Into the morning light, Breathe deep, breathe In life,

Precious Is the day, who doesn’t give thanks for many a breath always.

Breathe for me as your life force Is seen with each day, with eyes of green,

Breathe for me so that you don’t go away, for you, I ‘ll breathe more each day.

God gives the breath of life but for granted It Is that all the world takes,

Air Is special, the cleaner It remains the happier and longer we might be.

Breathe for me, Breathe In all the life there Is to be.

BREAKING THE LAW

BREAKING THE LAW

In so many ways it occurs, serious or a little less,

From a child who takes a piece of candy at a store.

You broke the law, but not in a bad way one might say,

Whether or not it’s a bad law, your morals are the same.

Breaking the law is what it is, you can not rationalize,

A piece of candy, all the way up the ladder a thief is seen.

Did I say seen? breaking the law is done in many different ways,

Petty theft, robbing a bank, those who run our world, higher stakes.

Criminal activity runs crazy throughout this state, not shocked are you,

Behind closed doors while we sleep, in broad daylight we don’t always see.

The bigger question remains, who gets to break the law, what laws are ignored,?

For those with money, breaking the law can be quite a game, the law should be for all.

BOYS FROM LIVERPOOL

BOYS FROM LIVERPOOL

From out of England these four were born,

Back some years ago is what we know.

In Liverpool, they started on their road to fame,

They were called the Beatles, remember their name.

To sing of love to sing of pain,

Talented were they, from their hearts they would play.

Known as the fab four, innocent were their smiles,

These young men of British descent would be with us for awhile.

By the name of Paul, on the guitar, he could play,

With the voice of words, his thoughts he would say.

John he was called, to the world he was known,

With his written words and guitar, he would go far.

Quiet was George, with a smile so bright,

Oh! could he sing and pick the guitar strings.

On his drums, he would hammer and bang as he felt,

Named Ringo like no other but all four were like brothers.

Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, George Harrison, John Lennon.

BOTH FEET OFF THE GROUND

BOTH FEET OFF THE GROUND

If I could lift both feet at the same time, I’d be up in the air,

My arms stretched out, flying, flying to anywhere and everywhere.

Stuck on the ground confined, trapped as if carrying heavy chains,

Sometimes just wanting to take off, fly, fly far away.

Not only gravity keeps us on the ground where we exist,

But the taste for life, for the breath, every breath.

Both feet off the ground to a new adventure in time,

Away, far away from what hurts a man’s heart, yes! this heart.

My heart cries for what has been taken away, away from me,

Both feet on the ground, not so much a good place to be.

BOOK OF FAITH

BOOK OF FAITH

I’d like to read to you a story, sit back and listen, dear friend,

This is about a man who has lost and found things of happiness.

He is not a wise man although at times he knows of wisdom,

He is not an angry man but anger lives within his spirit.

This man walks a road of at times fear and confidence lost,

Happiness is that which he so much wants to hold onto but there

Are those moments when to be happy can be a struggle, a search.

He is a man of inner strength, he possesses no surrender, will not give up,

There are those times when weakness attacks and the battle rages on.

He holds close to his heart faith, that all will be as it should be,

things will turn out, god willing the way he intended.

This man has much love in him as he did and still loves but will again love,

To live on his own, too live his life and again share his time with another.

This is my story, this is my book of faith told only to you dear friend,

Keep it with you always, may the lord bless and watch over you as your

Road is traveled each and every day into the rest of your life.

BODIES OF JUDGEMENT

BODIES OF JUDGEMENT

Live and breathe as human beings, we do,

Amongst ourselves we fight and hate, we do.

We are friends and enemies of one another,

Take sides against those we do not know.

Gossip is the beginning of many a struggle,

Anger and resentment to a fellow brother.

We criticize those who do things a different way,

They make mistakes, are we not the same?

All are equal but none are treated this way,

None are of perfection but not even power can take your sins away.

We hold onto a grudge, it will eat at your soul,

Opinions and feelings will turn the heart cold.

There was a time when this country stood together as one,

Today many act as one, divided.

The world needs to stand together as we all live in it,

Unless we are of an evil mind then we are no better or worse than any man.

BOARD GAME

BOARD GAME

Watch the world as the pieces move neverending, the world turns,

We start from a beginning moving with a roll of the dice, a card chosen.

Does god watch as we play, is he in our every move,?

Round and round we go as this board game of life takes us away.

Is the game played right, do we understand the consequences of our choice,

Are we the players or are we being played, is there a point to the game.?

Could the game be everlasting or does it end in a moment for some,

Spin the wheel, flip a coin, take a chance and walk your own path.
