WAKE TO THE MORNING SOUNDS

WAKE TO THE MORNING SOUNDS

Early it is before the sun rises when in the darkness lies quiet,

The singing of birds can be heard from many directions.

A breeze within the morning can be listened to softly,

In the distance the sound of a car, sirens screaming.

Squirrels on top of the roof running, their sounds in the tree,

Squawking scrub jay resting on the wire, waiting for peanuts.

Coffee brewing in the pot, the sound of an alarm clock,

Warm shower water and some music on the radio.

Wake to the morning sounds, listen closely to that which is around.
