I REMEMBER JACK

                   I REMEMBER JACK

He was a wanderer, a young man seeking peace,

War tears many families apart, a mystery was Jack.

Appeared did he on a roadside one day, I did change,

Something strange about a man who came from the past.

I remember a man named Jack who granted me a wish,

I did not make that wish and Jack had to go far away,

He made it for me as I saw him again one day.

A much older me, I did not know happiness was for me,

Jack died in nineteen forty four, long before I was
 Born.

BEGINNING TO AN END

                 BEGINNING TO AN END

I had walked the streets in a certain town,

For so many years, familiar faces and sounds.

Everything I did, all that I knew very comfortable,

It was my home but now it has gone and ended indeed.

Once again in life this is my new beginning, strange
 It is,

I feel lost, a strange place with faces unknown
 To me.

Street names are just that, only names but not
 Recognized,

Strangers are only people who have not yet become
 Friends.

My new home has neighbors who have not yet become
 Known,

Street names I will memorize so I will not get lost
 And all alone.

I like my new yard, yesterday has made many a change,

I now have a spot where I can be alone, I hide from
 The insane.

There is life that traveled with me, some that I have
 Left behind,

I swim in a pool, this is my new day, I heard some new
 Voices, Walk a new way.

I'm an inch away from heaven, a lifetime from where
 I belong,

I can hear my father calling me, In my head there is
 Always a song.

Beginning to an end, the world is for us not to really
 Understand,

I am here where I am, this is my new beginning,
 I am where I stand.

ALL IN A DREAM

                   ALL IN A DREAM

They call me old Dan tucker, jack of all trades,

There's a lot of love of the common people, we are
 Alive.
I didn't see the light of day for a while as I was
 Shackled and drawn,
This depression was getting to me as each day was a
 Lonesome day.
Life itself is a blessing but I need something to
 Lift me up,
My family is missing and my hometown burned to the
 Ground.
I told my wife just recently O' Mary don't you weep,

We shall overcome, we'll find our paradise.

With a wizards magic we left this horrible Kingdom
 Of days,
We wouldn't be the last to die as we were sent through
 Time into the future.
We found our lucky town, now my Oklahoma home,

I'm going down to a place called the pony boy that's
 Open all night.
It'll be a long walk home but i'm on fire with energy,

With this little light of mine I walked in the dark.

I went in places to drink, one called i'm a rocker,

 Jacob's ladder, and ramrod.

I met someone who said she was the queen of the
 Supermarket,
Strange as it was all in a dream.

A POEM TODAY

                     A POEM TODAY

Thoughts, many sights from my mind, visions
 From the past,

Dreams about tomorrow, what may be, a poem today.

To write is a beautiful thing, whatever you want
 It to be.

Change the world with a stroke of a pen, fact or
 Fantasy begins,

Share with those who do write and dream, those who
 Do see.

Share our stories together as we travel the world and
 Universe,

We have the ability to take ourselves and others away
 To unusual places.

A poem today about the love between two, the sun
 And moon,

Hopes and dreams, struggles and pain of life, what
 Keeps us strong,

A poem today that puts a smile on a face, comfort and
 Strength for a moment.

A MOMENT IN THE SUN

                   A MOMENT IN THE SUN

Has it always been mine since the beginning of
 My time,

I was born to run, I was born to chase the wind,
 So I run.

I've walked along the shore, my feet wet in the sand,

Holding hands, by myself I stand alone, a man.

There's been at times much fun, I am not done,

Friends and loved ones vanished as the hourglass runs.

When will it come I ask! this moment, my moment in
 The sun,

It was yesterday, appeared again today, did I not see,

Tomorrow will I wonder when it is to be as it lives
 All around me.

I had dreams of a girl once upon a time, she came to
 Visit me,

She came to say hi, for just a moment in time, a moment
 Gone by.

I've had a moment in the sun, a moment to run, to
 Chase the wind,

I've had a love who went away with the passing day,
 She flies.

My journey takes me to a place but who follows behind,

On another day will catch me, slow down to that which
 May be.

IMPOSSIBLE

                   IMPOSSIBLE?

Impossible things, are they to be Imagined,

To walk on the moon, travel to mars.

See and touch the oceans' floor,

Climb a mountain and reach for more.

It can be done, walking from coast to coast,

Break the sound barrier, faster than the speed of sound.

Travel in a balloon, across the world you go,

Fly in the sky, jump from the highest height.

 Impossible things, Impossible you say,

To rid the world of disease and cancer,

Can this be a possibility one day.

To love one another, hold hands across this world,

Terror put to an end, war only a bad dream.

To all Impossible things, to the next one who

 Can make it a reality.

                                                                                        Keith Garrett

I’M HEADING DOWN THE ROAD

I'M HEADING ON DOWN THE ROAD

I get dressed in the morning and pack my bags,

Open the window to look outside, the rain is nomore.

Through the clouds appear a ray of light just a little,

Wind blowing strong enough to close an open door.

A cup of coffee to get me going, breakfast really fast,

With my things in my hands I head for the car, moving
 Along.

Saying goodbye, leaving this place, i'm going away today,

Nothing left in this town for a poor lonely man, i'm
 Walking away.

I'm heading down the road to a place I don't know, into
 The sun,

Along the way, to me many things of sight, driving night
 By night.

What's left behind lives now only in a poor mans' mind,

I'll be doing fine, i'll be doing fine, i'm heading down
 The road.

 I'm heading down the line.

I'm heading down the road, i'll be searching for you,
 Moving along,

I'm heading down the road, i'm coming for you, i'm coming.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN YOU BEFORE

I HAVE NEVER SEEN YOU BEFORE

Together every day, we worked, side by side,

We saw one another but never looked at all,

Our names familiar and our faces friendly strangers.

I have never seen you before, never sought each
 Other out,

As if the light has been turned on, the sun shining
 Through.

I have never seen you before but today is something new.

FACES IN THE WATER

                  FACES IN THE WATER

By myself as I am sitting beneath the warm,
 Rising sun,

There exists a slight, cool, morning breeze around me.

Watch I do as the tall, dancing, trees stand high above,

Rays from the sun shine through the branches of leaves.

What surrounds me this day is taken for granted beauty,

The quiet is an always wanted gift that will never go
 Away.

The calm pond water rests around me while I think
 And dream,

When I look down to find my reflection I see not me
 But that of other days.

My thoughts take me to yesterday, far, far, away as
 if it were today,

The water is quite still now like clear, shiny, glass,
I drift off like a dream.

Faces in the water, clearly I can see with memories,
 Faces in the water,

Days of old, friends scattered with time are seen
 Floating in the sun.

DO YOU BELIEVE IN THE WIZARD?

DO YOU BELIEVE IN THE WIZARD?

Fable, folklore, or perhaps so very real somewhere
 In another time,

Like a mystical story from times of old England it seems
 This could be.

Possibly he lived in a great castle of stone along a
 Flowing river,

In a time of fire breathing dragons and a sword pulled
 From a stone.

Do you believe in the wizard who may have been dressed
 In a long black robe,

Pictures in gold color of half moons, stars, and maybe a
 Dragon on it.

A hat of black, a wand that casts spells of magical good
And evil once upon a time,

He may have had a long beard of white with a face of much
 Wisdom and knowledge.

A magic book of spells and potions made for love and pain,
Do you believe in the wizard?
