ANYTHING DEAR FRIEND

ANYTHING DEAR FRIEND

Just ask, If at all possible I will be there,

Do you need me now,? speak from your lips the words.

For you, there’s nothing I wouldn’t do,

Reach out and don’t be afraid, call out my name.

Anything dear friend, I promise this I say,

Hear me as I’ll never forget your name.

To get to you I’d walk the miles,

Sit and listen as the sun goes round and round.

Walkthrough fire to save you from pain,

Give up my blood so that you have one more day.

A part of me is something I could do,

The ultimate sacrifice if this is what I should do.

Anything dear friend, anything at all,

Let me know and I’ll make my way to you.

I’M JUST A POOR BOY

I’M JUST A POOR BOY

No car do I own, socks’ full of holes, day by day an hourly wage,

I lie there In bed worrying about tomorrow, a bed of my own.

No credit cards’ or a bank account, my only money In an aging wallet,

A table of food always, dinner as a poor boy will gladly serve.

Clothes on my back, shoes that take me to where I survive,

Blesses of many In a world of sorrow and strife.

I’m just a poor boy with a smile and a tear, a wish and a fear,

What I lack In gold Is made up of treasure discovered every day.

I’ll take a trip somewhere from my mind, to a place of fantasy,

A rich man can’t find, where a poor boy can’t buy.

I’m just a poor boy with so much to give, I give to you,

I’m just a poor boy, what’s a poor boy to do.

I’VE STOOD STRONG

I’VE STOOD STRONG

I’ve stood strong, Oh! so long and watched time pass,

To see the sunrise, too see the sunset.

Above me, the clouds drift past each day,

Can’t see where they go, this Is where I stay.

In the dark of night, I stand not alone,

What keeps me company Is that which roams.

The wind passes through me on a journey across the sky,

I’m never cold nor have I died.

Many have visited and stayed where I stand,

Some are now part of this land.

I’ll still be here long after you,

I’ve stood strong, I’m different, this Is true.

IF I HAD A SONG

IF I HAD A SONG

What would you hear If I sang to you,

Thoughts from my heart or words so true.

Would a tune be needed to understand what’s said,

Lyrics written just for a sweetheart, one still In my head.

If I had a song I’d give It to you, a romantic serenade,

You would hear my soul singing to you, a song, a song.

If I had a song then your beauty would be told,

I know of It, you can hear me sing of It from your heart.

Would you sit and listen If I had a song,

Would phrases of wanting love warm your precious soul.

Love does not die,

My love for you lives In this heart.

IS LIFE BUT A DREAM?

IS LIFE BUT A DREAM?

When we go to bed do we go to sleep,

Are we already dreaming of the life that we believe?.

Are the things’ that we see Imaginary or real,

Is there another life that we live and feel?.

Is our reality here and now,

Are we a thought of someone else somehow?.

Could It be that we are In another one’s mind,

In some other place, In some other time?.

Maybe In a coma for a period not known,

When we wake up to a life not our own.

What does It all mean,

Is life but a dream?.

FROM OUT OF MY WINDOW

FROM OUT OF MY WINDOW

I gazed outside at a bird on a limb,

So many clouds made my light very dim.

The things I see are not so new,

From out of my window, a simple view.

I stand here watching as time goes by,

I listen for the sound, I can hear nature cry.

The wind passes by, through the trees It blows,

Stare out at the night, watch as the moon glows.

As day becomes night and the night turns to day,

Time does not stand still but from out of my window,

I see things my own way.

A CHANGING MAN

A CHANGING MAN

Sit down my darling, sit back and relax, just listen,

I’m here to tell you a story about the life of a man.

Like an outlaw roaming the countryside day to day,

Mistakes not realized as he rides blindly Into loneliness.

Selfish and angry, as this anger stole the beauty and hope

Of what the world had to offer, nothing seen through his eyes.

Riding each day Into every sunset, never watching It go down,

Wasting time, running from a chance for happiness, this man.

Into his life one day, a woman of such beauty, In his eyes he did see,

Still taking for granted all there could be, holding on to mistrust.

She went away, she went far away, she saw the sunset, not he,

A changing man lives today, he rides and rides with his head held high.

Mistakes understood, selfishness gone away, anger turned to laughter,

He can see the beauty of this world through his now opened eyes.

Wasting no time as he does not run, he watches the sun go down,

Someday with her again to see the sunrise, to watch the sun go down.

A changing man can see, a changing man Is he.

CANDLES IN THE SKY

CANDLES IN THE SKY

They’ve rested high, forever in the darkened sky,

Seen in the night, billions float beyond our seeing eyes.

Light up the night they do, a wick lit by fire not needed to glow,

Bright Is the way If not Clouded by what may come this way.

Candles In the night, not made of wax so they forever burn in our sight,

Quiet In the dark, By morning’s light there Is not until night another spark.

Hot Is the wax that melts, the light In the sky has not yet died,

Candles In the night shine still bright, what dims, what does die?

WHEN HE DIED

WHEN HE DIED

What were his thoughts, how did he feel,

When the pain left his body, where did he go?

Did he understand when god touched his hand,

When he was no more, who was he?

Did he cry or did he feel the happiness of love everlasting,

When he died the tears would subside,

No pain or sorrow would rest inside.

He was the mortal man in a material land,

His spirit and soul would be forever in a far off heaven.

Only moments ago I saw him as I walked through the door,

When he died his being would forever hide,

Who he was would never leave our lives.

When he died I saw it as not real but I did cry,

When he died I had to say goodbye as my heart found him his place

Where I could forever see him smile.

STATE OF MAN

STATE OF MAN

Becoming crippled as we sit and wait for whatever happens,

We weaken as our rights are taken away by the enemy within.

Don’t be fooled by a handshake and a smile, meaningless words from lips of lies,

Hell has come to dinner, watch as the devil campaigns for the right to take.

Grab hold and never let go of the hand of God, hang on tight, there’s a fight,

At this moment it appears that we stand with only one leg, our blinded eyes.

We have lost strength as we possess only one hand to hold each other up,

The state of man is at a critical point dear people, line up and vote for the unknown.

There is something that one human soul may do, pray for the lesser evil,

Hang on to hope and that God is watching closely, that he may Intervene in a great way.

There is a beautiful world being abused, taken for granted, like spitting in the Lord’s face,

May he strike down the evil ones before it’s too late, get ready for what’s heading our way.
