LEPRECHAUN

LEPRECHAUN

A small, mischievous Elf, dressed in green attire,

Belts of black, boots perhaps of the same color.

From Irish Folklore, It has been said they have been

Seen roaming the Irish countryside, these wee folk.

Members of a clan, they invaded Ireland, banished to live underground,

Standing only two to three feet tall, these devious characters,

Quick witted, intelligent, they evade capture from humans.

They live in underground caves with entrances or a hollow trunk of a fairy tree,

It is said that wishes of three have been granted to some that leave them be.

They are known for their love of Irish music and dance, Instruments played,

Tin Whistle, the fiddle, Bodhran, and the Irish harp, a look with beards and pipes.

Shoemakers they are, believed because of all the dance they do,

To catch one of the wee folk is nearly impossible as they are smart with magical powers,

Vanish into thin air they can, a pot of gold is a most possible dream.

You’ll hear an Irish Leprechaun before you’ll ever see one,

They have a fondness for drinking Irish Poitin, catch one if you can.

Happy ST. Patrick’s Day,

THE BEST SUMMER OF MY LIFE

THE BEST SUMMER OF MY LIFE

Think far back or just a few years if there was a season remembered,

I was a child when those first Summers played, a time not in my mind.

Places that I have lived have Summers that belong to them, what is remembered,

There have been many seasons of the heated time, some of the best in my life,

Do you remember a house and city you may have lived in as a child or teen,

Friends, running with the wind, full of energy as the days seemed to never end.

The best Summer of my life, the first one that has never been recalled to this day,

The best Summer of my life was the last Summer as a young boy with my dad.

When you are young it is that when school is out every Summer will be the best,

For me, there was a great place, some of the best Summers of my life, Yorba Linda,

I was ten when I moved there and for all those kids who did, do you remember the magic.?

The best Summer of my life is every Summer I awake to from beginning to end.

TEARS FROM THE SKY

TEARS FROM THE SKY

Watching the smog as it fills up high,

Polluted water, senseless acts day and night.

Wars of destruction, the greed in a man,

Acts of violence that destroy nature and human beings.

Trash fills the streets, anger and hate consume,

What are we doing in our world of doom.?

Evil thoughts, random killings go on,

The family structure dissolves, crumbles and falls.

Tears from the sky, god watches as our time goes by,

Stand back and watch, you just might cry.

THE ADVENTURE OF LIFE

THE ADVENTURE OF LIFE

It holds many doors, different roads to choose from,

Chances are taken as we turn the page.

Life is an adventure, different chapters are written,

Only can it be wasted if we stand still too long,

Moving into the future, playing a different game.

We must read from different books,

Experience different tastes of another type of food.

We leave behind people and things, sometimes we must let go,

Carrying into the future our memories or lessons learned.

Sometimes it’s difficult to miss but we learn to adjust,

Changes upon changes as the wheel keeps turning.

The circle of life is neverending, nothing may stay the same,

The adventure of life is a most wonderful but hard game to play.

TALK TO HIS HEART

TALK TO HIS HEART

Speak words that are truly felt from inside, he will listen,

Hear what you have to say is what he will do when you open up.

It might appear that he is not there anywhere but speak your words,

Talk to his heart and he will hear you, know will he of your love and faith.

Talk to his heart and he will reach out to you, quietly as he seems so far away,

He’s in a different place right now, a much different state of mind.

Talk to his heart and a heart will in return say many loving things back,

Talk to his heart, two hearts connected from separate places.

TAKE MY HEART

TAKE MY HEART!

The whole system has crossed the line, take my heart!

Desperate to save his dying son does anyone care.

Valued only by the type of his insurance, take my heart!

The worth of his child’s life becomes not much around a table.

Take my heart! he says, they say no, this is not how it works,

Policy and politics are a crime when it comes to a life.

He would sacrifice everything, risk his life for his son,

” You have no money,” they say with such a look, take my heart!

People die every day, just the way it is when your value is little,

A son survives, a hospital does not want to look bad,

Why could they not do this from the start, take my heart!

TAKE HOLD OF THE NIGHT

TAKE HOLD OF THE NIGHT

Sun going down on another day, the breath of life lives,

The light in the sky survives just a little while longer.

Days are becoming shorter as they remain with hours of the same,

As the air grows colder then wood is gathered for that great fire.

Getting early evening things done before the setting of the sun,

A shower then dinner in the dark, some candles lit within the home.

Two who can share all the beauty of a most precious given time,

Take hold of the night, may it last longer than what seems only a moment.

We have no idea that which is in store for us in the morning light,

Peaceful is the night, time for rest, take hold of the night, a piece of life.

TAKE ME TO THE END OF THE ROAD

TAKE ME TO THE END OF THE ROAD

I’ll walk the road from dawn till dusk in shoes of black,

In the morning darkness, my quest begins but not alone.

By my side stand those who come as strength and power,

Hour by hour I’ll trek along into the street seeking what’s lost.

Understand my mission to this point in life is to conquer,

Fight a battle that has not been with eyes seen but the heart.

Hurt and anger, a smile of hope will guide this searching man,

A rainbow of fantasy, a treasure chest imagined in a dream.

Walk with me brother and sister, friends and strangers,

All that gather, show that you care, hold your fist to the sky.

Stand with me in the cold of the mornings rising sun,

Lend me your courage until my day is done, this our day.

If I should fall then lift me up, if I do stumble then words

Will comfort, take me to the end of the road, take me to the end of the road.

STRENGTH

STRENGTH

The lion Is strong and fearless as he roams’ the jungle,

It Is known that he Is there, his crown Invisible but seen.

There Is strength In a man who stands’ up for what he believes,

He Is strong and powerful with words’ of knowledge or silence.

Doing what Is hardest, doing what scares one but must be done,

Facing ones’ self In the mirror and admitting he has faults’.

Strength Is letting your emotions’ show but kept In control,

Knowing Inside there’s a man although vulnerable.

I am a man, I have strength.

SWEET ANGEL

SWEET ANGEL

Appeared into this life, my life, you as beauty,

Eyes that sparkle bright in the heavenly night.

What was given me was an angel blessed upon,

Sweet angel of life, my darling, you are my light.

A dream it was not, fore you were seen with a heart,

No magic potion was needed, love rises above all.

You are there but not there as days gone by are no more,

You are here and not here, your heart disappears.

My love, It is with my sorrowful heart that loves,

I take hold and never let go as you fly, fly away.

Sweet angel of beauty, sweet angel in this heart,

Forever love me, never part, hold me as you fly.
