COLORS OF EMOTION

                 COLORS OF EMOTION

Sad was the day as a man passed my way, tear
 Down his face,

Was blue the shade he wore as he faded beyond
 My sight?

Anger was in her heart, on her face shone through
 Like fire,

Would red be a noticeable color, a shade she wears
 Into her day?

Jealousy fills many thoughts from those with
 Insecure hearts,

So is green your color chosen as you journey out
 Into a world begins?

Fear Is an emotion, a boy was so afraid that he
 Huddled in a corner,

Does he see yellow fore there's a difference as he's
 Not a coward?

Pain and despair of the sick and elderly are seen in
 Our world today,

Colors of emotion, do they wear, possess the images of
 Black and purple,

What color of emotion do you wear regularly, what shade
 On this day.

HOME YOU GO

               HOME YOU GO

Close your eyes and open your mind,

Take a trip, home you go back to the snow.

You were only a child, a young boy back then,

Not so long ago to remember again.

Woods of trees, Christmas times that can never
 Again be,

Icicles hanging from the roof tops, snowmen at your
 Feet.

Watch as it falls, snowballs made from the ground,

Grapes hanging on vines, friends back in time.

From thoughts you'll see the house where you once
 Lived,

See it from so long ago, life was beautiful,

Leave it there, any pain or sorrow, bury it deep
 In the snow.

It lives in your mind, let the sadness go,

Remember a place called Amesbury, for an uncle named Joe.

I AM NOT A RICH MAN BUT RICH I AM

I AM NOT A RICH MAN

              BUT RICH I AM

I do not own a home or a treasure chest of gold,

Stocks and bonds are few, diamonds are a little too.

I am not a rich man as calculated by statistics and
 Daily man,

A special car or a vacation home does not show of my
 Value.

I am not a rich man, estimated by paper money or
 Material things,

But rich I am, If life is valued in a simple way,
 Just a regular day.

These things are free but of gold bars to me, listen
To what makes a rich man,

If love is in your day then rich you are in a most
 Special way.

I can walk and see with my every day, I breathe freely,
 I'm okay,

A roof over my head, clothes on my back, never to bed
 Am I hungry.

So much can cost money, beauty, staying healthy, a song
 You sing is free,

But rich I am, with that which is mine and my thoughts
 Every way.

GLOVES ON HIS HANDS

            GLOVES ON HIS HANDS

He trains on his own, a hard and painful,
 Lonely, road,

Up with the sun, a day that's never done.

A boxing man, at times, beaten and battered,

Win or lose, he'll give it all that he can.

Blood is hs sacrifice, swollen knuckles, and hands,

Stands and faces the enemy, twelve rounds if he can.

Knocked to the canvas, back on his feet is this man,

Eyes that are half closed, strength of a warrior.

This chosen life, a courageous man with gloves on his
 Hands,

A champion, a winner no matter the outcome.

BEGINNING TO AN END

          BEGINNING TO AN END

I had walked the streets in a certain town,

For so many years, familiar faces and sounds.

Everything I did, all that I knew very comfortable,

It was my home but now it has gone and ended indeed.

Once again in life this is my new beginning, strange
 It is,

I feel lost, a strange place with faces unknown to me.

Street names are just that, only names but not
 Recognized,

Strangers are only people who have not yet become
 Friends.

My new home has neighbors who have not yet become known,

Street names I will memorize so I will not get lost and
 All alone.

I like my new yard, yesterday has made many a change,

I now have a spot where I can be alone, I hide from the
 Insane.

There is life that traveled with me, some that I have
 Left behind,

I swim in a pool, this is my new day, I heard some new
 Voices, walk a new way.

I'm an inch away from heaven, a lifetime from where I
 Belong,

I can hear my father calling me, In my head there is
 Always a song.

Beginning to an end, the world is for us not to really
 Understand,

I am here where I am, this is my new beginning, I am
 Where I stand.

BENEATH THE AUTUMN SKY

       BENEATH THE AUTUMN SKY

From up so high life goes on down below, this is so,

It is seen from above, from the heaven where we are
 To go.

Beneath the Autumn sky everything lives and has its time,

There's a cycle of life, all things rotating as if it
 Was a dance.

Watch as the leaves disappear from the trees, falling
 Together,

They vanish, crumble and blow away with the wind always.

Beneath the Autumn sky there are colors of orange, yellow,
 And red,

Shades of beauty that are here for a Fall season, they
 Soon slip away.

A cool breeze in the air, animals collecting food for a
 Winter cold,

Beneath the Autumn sky there is life moving as all things
 Must die.

1943 NICKEL

               1943 NICKEL

A nickel I came upon, old is its age,

Dirty and worn, 1943 had a name.

When it was made, which first pocket did hold,

A celebrity of movies or a farmer tired at night.

Could it have been the great Joe Dimaggio,

As time went by possibly a singer or olympian.

A little boy had a nickel in his pocket, grew did he,

A famous writer he became, a 1943 nickel, where could
 It be?

Beyond seventy years, this silver looking coin has
 Traveled,

Today it rests with me, who held onto it in 1943?

FROM THEIR HEARTS, CRY SONGS

                FROM THEIR HEARTS'

                    CRY SONGS'

Listen to the sound, close your eyes and feel
What it is that they speak,

Poetry cries out from these two hearts' of musical
 Inspiration.

They sing of dreams', possibilities of love, and
 Sadness around,

Separate thoughts', voices known well together or
Apart are these men of Imagination.

With so much emotion, out from his soul come words'
 Of hope,

Art Garfunkel stands' a dreamer In a not so perfect
 World.

This mans' guitar tells' tales In magical tunes of
 Rhythm,

Paul Simon Is a thinker of the wonders' that life
 Holds for mankind.

A POEM TODAY

                     A POEM TODAY

Thoughts, many sights from my mind, visions
 From the past,

Dreams about tomorrow, what may be, a poem today.

To write is a beautiful thing, whatever you want
 It to be,

Change the world with a stroke of a pen, fact or
 Fantasy begins.

Share with those whom do write and dream, those
 Who do see,

Share our stories together as we travel the world
 And universe.

We have the ability to take ourselves and others
 Away to unusual places,

A poem today about the love between two, the sun
 And moon.

Hopes and dreams, struggles and pain of life, what
 Keeps us strong,

A poem today that puts a smile on a face, comfort and
 Strength for a moment.

           A PAGE MISSING

A life I find not finished yet quite incomplete,

There's a page missing, something not found,

Writing about my time, a piece not described.

Talks with children unsettled, much more be said,

Differences between a father and daughter are unsaid.

A shock to my head, an accident did take fro me,

A page missing, what for me is still unwritten.
