A VIEW WORTH SEEING
Fortunate if you are to see throught the darkness,
For granted do not take the gift of light, always night.
Scenes and visions from the mind are wonderful at times,
To open your eyes and nothing rests in your sight a
Fright.
A view worth seeing comes to the grateful eyes day or
Night,
The morning light with the birds beautiful in your sight.
Wherever you go a picture of color awaits, always
Changing,
Each day a different view, open your eyes to a view
Worth Seeing.

I’M GETTING OLDER
I'M GETTING OLDER
I first opened my eyes, once tiny and bright
To this world,
A memory I do hold but remember not as I was
A baby.
Pictures of my life are few compared to the window
Of my mind,
Once only a child, things I knew were also few, children
That played
With this child are lost with time, always in my mind.
The world seems smaller as my life has spread further
With the passing days,
I'm getting older, once I was a young teenager moving
Ever so fast.
Birthday to birthday comes a new number pinned to my
Aging soul,
Grateful am I with a much appreciated thank you and
Love of God.
That he has given me life this long, I hope and pray
That one I'll
Be forever remembered and once in a while thought of
By you,
I'm getting older, maybe a touch wiser, possibly a
Better me.
I'm getting older, remember who I am, my name is Keith,
I am a mortal man living in this gift, laid in my hand.

IT AIN’T DYING I’M TALKIN’ ABOUT
IT AIN'T DYING I'M TALKIN' ABOUT
He was blinded, a deep anger to hide his true
Feelings about the past,
Wasting precious time hiding from a young man, a certain
Truth to be told.
This ranger who spent his life by the law protecting and
Ridding the bad from the world,
A son who every day was close to him but had not a clue
That this man with a badge was dad.
A friend for life, he fought and laughed each day by his
Side, they talked of life and dreams,
His son would learn of his connection to a father but not
Spoken from a father's stubborn lips.
Talking about the end, a fact that all would die,
Something Would someday take us away,
Hard times in a cruel, violent, world where a man's life
For many reasons would be cut short.
Death for these friends and rangers was witnessed throughout
Their lives on many a trail,
Two men so different as they were in ways much the same,
Philosophy and stories told by a fire.
It ain't dying I'm talkin' about, this friend with a zest
For life, A man who tried to see the beauty of the day,
It's living! to awake each morning with the breath of
Life My friend, Take in every moment until the end.

GREEK GOD OF THE SKY
GREEK GOD OF THE SKY
It rests way up high, giant in the dark of night,
So far away, when was it formed, millions of years
From today.
Beyond the stars, spinning in outer space, thirteen rings
Around its face,
Father of the sky, seventh planet from the sun, will you
Ever perish and go away?
You go by a name known to all from the beginning of man,
Uranus be your name,
Quite strange as you spin forever tilted on your side, a
Collision be the reason why.
You orbit with others of names which have been formed so
Many human lifetimes,
Beyond the Earth, space is a place of much mystery just
As You hold a mystery of your own.

FINDING FREEDOM
FINDING FREEDOM
The search for freedom and a fight to keep it,
After thousands of years more is taken away today.
It's all up for sale, we can barely walk in the hills
Anymore,
Dirt, water, and even air are not ours without a dollar.
We are not as free as we believe, we are allowed to do
As they say,
All wars are not about freedom, most are of corruption
And money.
Finding freedom when so much has changed is becoming
Rare,
We are losing it from every direction, before our eyes,
And behind our backs.
The enemy appears to be us, look to our neighbor more than
Across the sea,
Look around people, we are losing our rights, finding
Freedom between what is seen.

EIGHTEEN WHEELS
EIGHTEEN WHEELS
Leaving out of North Dakota, heading for Odessa
Town,
Hopped up into my ole' truck, eighteen wheels under
My butt.
Hauling a load of lumber and steel,
Me and my music box, my hands on the steering wheel.
I'm heading for the heat of Texas,
It's gonna be a long, long, road, don't you know.
I turned up some good ole' country tunes,
Time to put the hammer down.
This life I chose on the road, it's to anywhere I
Roam,
Just a simple Kansas farm boy, one day I'll go back
Home.
Eighteen wheels, rolling down the highway,
Eighteen wheels, doin' it my way.
Just a good ole' boy with places to be,
A country heart, and i got things to see,
Eighteen wheels and I'm running free.

ECHOES AND SHADOWS
ECHOES AND SHADOWS
When the wind blows there are echoes in time,
Echoes of all that have passed on by.
The sounds of a lifetime, listen as the children
Have grown,
Echoes of voices lost with the emptying hourglass.
There are the echoes of those who once lived,
Laughter of young ones, now part of the wind.
Shadows of the seasons, one by one, gone,
Shadows remembered of a man standing in the sun.
Shadows of trees that stood tall in the sky,
Across mountain tops, shadows from morning till night.
Echoes and shadows from the beginning of time,
Time passed by, seen from many eyes.

A LIST OF THINGS TO BE
A LIST OF THINGS TO BE
Never an astronaut, dancing slowly upon the moon,
Flying in a jet across the sky, no, not did I ever fly.
A football star, throwing the ball far, a dream that
Won't be,
Under the lights, a victory on a Super bowl night.
What is it like to be a movie star pretending to be
Many things,
Known everywhere, this is not what I was born to be.
An Olympic star, a racer of cars, I wanted to be but
That's not me,
A great writer, a hero of sort would be something I
Might be.
A rescuer of the down and out, a conqueror of
Homelessness,
I may not be an Einstein of genius, I am good enough
For me.
A list of things to be, how much can one man need?

SADNESS IN THE SMOKE
SADNESS IN THE SMOKE
Flames In the darkness, flames of fright, run, run
Into the night,
Men of fear, men who fight through the night, a fire
Fight.
Sadness and pain as the heat and smoke devour natures
Beauty,
Who's to blame for this destruction placed upon all
Good men?
They run, they hide but where to hide, animals,'
Creatures Of all kind,
Death comes to visit, too take away the Innocent without
Feeling or care.
Fix your eyes to the tears' from those who see the land
Die and die,
Look to the sky, watch as It rises, a picture of sadness
In the smoke.
The wind will blow but there will be no trees for It to
Pass through,
The grass you will not see, the animals' are gone.
Some men do not stand anymore, they disappear with this
Tragedy,
That must be forever remembered, some day we will learn
To love This land that was created.
Sadness In the smoke above these hills' that burn for the
World to see,
Eyes must be opened before It's too late, before this
Land goes away.

IF NO SIGHT HAD I
IF NO SIGHT HAD I
Suddenly, so suddenly, my eyes, they could no
Longer see,
Where did everything go, what am I to become, I'm blind.
Darkness, only darkness can be my world now, to be
Afraid,
Never again a sunny day, the night visits' me repeatedly.
If no sight had I there would be many new thoughts' and
Adventures,
The wind I would hear as I did before, my Imagination
Would create pictured scenes of what it was doing.
Music would still be heard although my mind could see the
Story a song might tell with its words,
A television show now only to be heard, no picture book
To go with.
A kiss could still be placed upon her lips, no sight or
Sound do I need,
Feelings' here are what will be needed and a little
Sense of touch,
If no sight had I, life would be just fine.
