TO LIVE

TO LIVE

What is the meaning of life,? we do not know of God’s plan,

To live, we must seize the day, laugh, and play.

Most are worried about surviving from the clocks every tick,

As if to really live has no time for us.

When you awake do you see the light, the rising sun,

Are you blinded by the struggles of your daily flight?

To your ears is there the sound of birds chirping and singing,

Or only the echo in your head of all that must be done.

You need to stop and watch as the sun goes down,

A moment of peace before a regret that tomorrow has no plans for you.

Learn to dance, listen to the music you forget to hear,

Take a walk with the one you love until it’s time to disappear.

Slow down just a little and breathe the air,

To live is to relax and enjoy, to love and sometimes do nothing but see and dream.

Take notice that as we grow older time seems to move faster,

The day will come when we must let it all go,

Pray that God’s plan has a place for you.

THE BALLAD OF A MAN

THE BALLAD OF A MAN

The sun keeps going down, no one’s ever around,

No one talks to me no more, I see my body on the floor,

The days and nights run into tomorrow, a little laughter and some sorrow.

Tears and crying in a world of pain, my mother went away before Spring was awake,

My dad’s been gone since I was a little boy, laughter, and joy in between my sorrow.

Songs that ring inside my head remind me of things from yesterday and friends,

I started out a little boy, grew to a man who wonders where he’s going.

Brothers and sisters all over the place, I see their faces, do they have the same names,

I travel my own road of life, three children I love and an ex-wife I have never even liked,

This is a Ballad of a man who loved and cared, he did in his life all that he can.

THE FLOWING RIVER

THE FLOWING RIVER

I sit and watch the flowing river, the river runs away from me,

I’m here alone beneath the singing trees, the river flows into the sea.

Looking down upon the valley, the river flows between the rocks and me,

I watch the trees, the valley is seen, the flowing river is a forever dream.

The sun is setting upon all that is seen, I am life and the river is me,

I am not pretend as I have been forever, the flowing river flows through me.

7 MINUTES

7 MINUTES

We all have 7 minutes before something we must do,

The same time before work is done and time to go home.

7 minutes waiting or 7 minutes up, what be the circumstances,

7 minutes in the shower, 7 minutes on the phone,

7 minutes before dinner, another 7 minutes all alone.

Time is of the essence, time never stands very still,

7 minutes late just may save your life, right on time, goodbye.

In only 7 minutes, from good to bad, your world has changed,

Snooze for an extra 7 minutes, it may do you a world of good,

7 minutes, a long time to suffer, 7 minutes to love and dream.

TIME IN HEAVEN

TIME IN HEAVEN

Would there be a clock, sunrise to sunset,

Light by day, darkness through the night.

A calender, seven days in a week, do you think,

Four seasons are no more, how is time observed?

Does a day ever end, time in heaven, a mystery to be,

Birthday’s are of yesterday, age you will never again,

Time in heaven, one day we all will understand.

WHEN THE CLOCK STOPS

WHEN THE CLOCK STOPS

It measures our time, an hourglass in our mind,

All are not equal, not the same amount of sand.

A timepiece which shows our days, hour by hour,

With the sun we plan our existence minute by minute.

Everything is measured from the creation of time,

When the clock stops we drift into a consciousness of another kind.

BLUE JEANS

BLUE JEANS

Antique in time, from the seventies, a pair so fine,

I remember I put them away, blue Jeans for another day.

A touch faded were they, comfortable in a certain way,

Worn were they to a party, perhaps a barbecue or two,

A Saturday night drive-in, what jeans were worn by you?

Blue jeans I took from a shelf, dusty, aged from time,

They fit me once before, now I can wear them in my mind.

ORPHANAGE

ORPHANAGE

Lost inside within a place full of lives,

How many care that they are there?

Not a pretty sight by day or by night,

A smile fades as not a family rescues you this day.

The halls hold eyes that have wishes deep inside,

Bring us home, we need a father and mother of our own.

An orphanage is not a home, nor a place we should roam,

Take us from here, we pray that you may love us and hear.

GRANDCHILD

GRANDCHILD

A dream, a mystery, for me has not been seen,

A child just born to this world, I have learned.

A descendent, a great grandchild to my Father, mother,

A young child so new, I heard you’re a little boy, I heard.

Not your name can I say, I don’t know you, no name given to me,

A grandchild, not for me to see, a daughter so bitter, sorry.

I say to you Grandchild, I am Grandfather with a name,

One day you will understand, anger and a grudge will haunt your land.

WONDER

WONDER

What things may be of wonder, beyond the universe,

God created heaven and earth, I wonder, who is God?

I at times wonder why the world is covered in water,

We can not drink it, our Earth has a water shortage.

Do you wonder why man and nature exist together,

I wonder why man destroys everything and nature.

To wonder is to dream, to have thoughts, Imagine,

I wonder if this world will survive long enough to keep wondering?
