GREATNESS IN THE EIGHTIES

GREATNESS IN THE EIGHTIES

What a team, a very special and amazing group of men,

Seems like just yesterday they were here now a memory so fine.

They were the Lakers with quickness and speed,

Down the floor they would run, no one like them could there be.

They could pass the ball with such finesse,

Wizards of the court when they were at their best.

Something special each one would have to give,

Together they were an orchestra, like music so fine.

Destroy their opponent each battle they would do,

These talented sportsmen too the world all knew.

Magic their leader, on the floor there was nothing he couldn’t do,

A man called big game James as fast and quick with the things he could do.

One they called Cooper for his Coop-a-loop,

Beside him there was Byron whom could shoot the ball too,

Don’t forget A.C. Green whom fought for his dream.

Of course in the middle now in the hall of fame,

King Kareem was their giant with his hook so mean.

Let’s nor forget Superman, Kurt Rambis a big part,

Whom fought for his team with such a great heart.

Los Angeles Lakers,

Greatness in the eighties. Keith Garrett

ALONE IN THE DARK

Everyone Is gone, I look around, silence Is the sound,

Where did they go, I do not know, I am somehow alone.

A campsite of darkness Is a fun and peaceful place,

A warm fire, friends, and laughter will liven up the night.

What a difference It makes when you’re alone In the dark,

The lonely quiet that accompany’s a fear that something Is there.

There are two parts, different views on being alone In the dark,

Peace and time by yourself to breathe and think can be great.

Wondering what’s a danger or the silent dark that scares a man,

Fear of the unknown, afraid of being alone, alone In the dark.

I HAVE WALKED A LONG ROAD

I HAVE WALKED A LONG ROAD

Jesus on one side and the devil on the other, they follow always,

I have walked a long road with a little sin, some kindness, and regret.

They are not seen with eyes of sight but you can feel them both testing,

I have walked the center of this road for much of my time, i see both sides.

The devil smiled whenever i did wrong, on the other side i saw jesus cry,

When no remorse was seen in my heart, the devil laughed, jesus never left.

My eyes could see the darkness as the devil walked on my left side wanting,

Turning to my right Jesus and his light never has given up on me, I still walk.

No longer do i walk the center of that long road as closer to the right I feel,

I reach for his hand but still fingertips away, the devil stands strong but i am stronger.

For all that i have done wrong i do live with but i ask forgiveness to those and to him,

As they both walk the road i walk where the light shines upon my soul.

TRAPPED

TRAPPED

I’m in here, you can’t hear me as I shout,

Find the key to my door, please let my pain out.

I know you can’t understand fore inside me the real words do not come out,

Just meaningless sounds of what I’m about.

Your attention so hard I try too get,

The negative movements of my spirit won’t leave me yet.

Trapped in a place inside my own world,

Finding my way out is what i’m about.

FATHER AND SON

FATHER AND SON

Walked hand in hand, he was the man,

When I looked up I saw my dad.

So impressed when I watched him shave,

I want to be like you, a proud dad of a man.

Watch television with you, a drive in your car,

Father and son, I have traveled far, see you above the stars.

BEFORE YOUR SOUL

BEFORE YOUR SOUL

Where are you before you are you,

Billions of years, molecules exploding in time.

Born to this world millions of years before,

A man, you don’t speak in words but a screech.

Your first thoughts are of survival, food and water,

Your mind and body are most unusual, not of today.

Fire has not been learned, day and night, sun and rain,

These are to you a mystery, so much you will learn,

Before your soul was created, a man you are related.

HEARTBEAT OF THE WORLD

HEARTBEAT OF THE WORLD

From within, the earth rumbles, there’s heated liquid like blood,

Beating as a heart beats, energy and life, power inside a complicated world.

Rise to the surface, thoughts and wisdom, to learn becomes the brain not seen,

The flowing wind and air stands to be the breath, lungs of the land.

The moon that rests beyond the sky, the stars and planets that watch up high,

The eyes of the world could only be our creator god invisible to our sight.

Is it sadness in the world or tears of joy that make the sky cry,

A sacrifice as the water drops fall sustaining life and keeping beauty in sight.

Everything hears everything, ears of the land are everywhere,

The world lives as we live, take for granted and many things can do us in.

A STRANGER

A STRANGER

Cobwebs and tumbleweeds, traces of life and the past,

A forgotten road not so often traveled, not anymore.

Where do they go, the ones we once knew and walked with,

More and more they become ghosts, faded faces from yesterday.

Time slips away slowly into my tomorrow where my memories are found,

Friends are now strangers, strangers are now my friends.

There once lived a woman whom i did not know. she lived her life without me,

In her there was not a thought of me, for me she had no meaning.

This stranger that i had not met would someday be the love a man could not forget,

Like the wind forever blowing, she has drifted, a stranger i never knew.

Where did you go! where did you go! a stranger i love, a woman i’ll never know.

A SIMPLE MIND, A HEART SO PURE

A SIMPLE MIND, A HEART SO PURE

He lived a life of dreams, the world was a strange place,

A boy so different to others, he learned to run away.

A simple mind, called stupid for the way he saw things,

A girl he would befriend, under a big Oak tree they would swing.

A simple mind, a heart so pure belonged to this thinking man,

He saw all things in such a simple manner, a gentle soul.

Time would take him full circle back to where he started,

He would love, lose, and then love again, a girl on a swing.

A child of his own, married did he this love from childhood,

He had everything to share, sickness would take his love away,

A simple mind, a heart so pure would burry his wife under that Oak tree of before.

GOD IS IN THE RAIN

GOD IS IN THE RAIN

Clouds form, they turn dark with storm,

Drops fall from the sky, cold and warm,

More and more as they touch treetops.

Drip by drip they trickle down to the ground,

Into the rivers, flowing into the oceans as one.

Drops of rain cover lakes, slowly filling with time,

From the mountains the water makes its way down,

Soaking the hills to create life, within the flowers and grass.

Let the rain fall, God is in in the rain, in the drops that are upon you,

God is in the rain as it comes down, God soaks this world with life.
