THE TRUTH ABOUT REALITY

This is real, we all live in a world together,

We are in some ways trapped with no escape.

Real is that which we see right before our eyes,

There are things happening everywhere that seem unreal,

At times we do wish to hide from reality in our own fantasies.

The truth about reality is that it is all around us forever circling,

What’s among us is our reality, some get lost in their own reality.

THEY ONLY KNOW MY NAME

My face is seen through eyes that do not see,

Opinions or judgement, anger or jealousy.

They form their own truth, they make themselves believe,

That i am something less than what i know to be.

A first impression, a bad impression,

Who are they whom think they sit on a throne.

If they look to the mirror, no perfection to see,

They only know my name, they do not know of me.

A story they tell amongst themselves,

They do not stand and face me.

It is only heard by my ear from breath to breath,

They only know my name, they are known to me.

I APOLOGIZE

I Apologize as I always respond to everyone personally

with a thank you for reading or following my poetry.

I can’t see anything coming through with your names.

I post but nothing coming back, I get all subscribes only.

I appreciate all of your time in reading, I can still post.

I don’t know what’s wrong.

WHEN THEY TOOK HIS HOME

A time of war, eigteen sixty three, many sides,

Not part of the war, the innocent among the casualties.

A simple farmer just wanting peace with his family,

They came, riders through a dusty cloud of destruction.

They killed his wife and son, again he picks up his gun,

Does not rest, will not until he finds these cowardly men.

When they took his home they took his life and soul,

Branded an outlaw he rode until he found who stole.

HE COULD SEE THE WORLD

Blinded as a young boy, darkness filled his world,

Learned did he to put away his self -pity and begin to live.

Accepting his sightless land of nothing to be seen,

Again found something worthwhile he might be,

Helping and teaching those whom become like he.

A miracle it was that a shock would give his sight back,

He could see the world, a second chance to again see,

This time not for granted taken, he could see, again free.

LIVE IN THE MOMENT

I am now, I am here in my moment of time,

My whole world, everything I am and know,

This is the time and place of my existence.

Nothing before or after matters at this time,

I am only one in this very large universe,

A speck compared to all created throughout time.

Live in the moment, for the moment we should,

Fore as we are now standing here it is that we are gone.

MORE THAN A THEORY

I can see the world crumbling, weighed down by evil,

It’s overpowering the good and can be seen in many ways.

Will the world soon disappear or change its ways,

More than a theory are many things I think,

Assassinations and lies to the people are a reality.

John Wilkes Boothe did not act alone, I don’t think so,

James Earl Ray, was he really alone on that sad day,

Lee Harvey Oswald, whom were the rest, what were their names?

Sirhan Bishara Sirhan, did he act alone, will we ever know,

More than a theory, so many lies, unanswered questions,

More than a theory, corruption and guilty lies.

I HAD TO HURRY

I wish i could have seen you when i called you up today,

But i was in a hurry and i had to rush away.

I had to catch a certain train to keep a special date,

And i could offer no excuse if i arrived there late.

I wish i could have been with you if only for awhile,

To hold your hand, too touch your lips, and see your sunny smile.

But there will be another time when we can be alone,

And i can tell you how i long to have you for my own.

So please be patient, dearest one and put your trust in me,

And someday i shall be your own for all eternity.

I try to add up all the joys that i have known with you,

And though i add a thousand times, the count is never true.

There is no number great enough or one that could come near,

The total of the smiles that you have given me, my dear.

My every happiness is one according yo your smile,

And every smile has been an inch along my every mile.

Each little message from the heart, in every song and sign,

Has been a brighter dream for me, to keep my spirit high.

I could not stand to count them all, but every day and year,

I want you more than ever and i love you and thank you, dear.

My father

A SIMPLE DAY

Wake up to a mixture of clouds and sun,

Feed the birds and squirrels, it’s morning now.

A cup of coffee, no caffeine for me, a quiet thought,

The world is much to fast, faster than what I have come to be,

I can now get things done, the way I want it to be for me.

A simple day in the rain or sun, I have some time to have some fun,

At the computer my thoughts are given out to the world.

A simple day, nothing gets in my way, I can keep to myself,

A movie, a show, exercise that keeps me healthy and ready to go.
